For Sale Parting out 1983 Ferrari Mondial QV - All parts not needed for EV including engine+gastanks for sale

2 months since starting this project, I believe I'm done pulling parts off my 83 US-spec Mondial QV that I'm planning to do an EV conversion on so I'm now listing the items I have available for sale. I may list some future items once I decide that I no longer need them for my converted vehicle (ex: brake/clutch pedal assembly, AC condenser, etc, but for now, here are the pieces I KNOW I will not need for my vehicle. If there is something you want/need for your Mondial and I’m missing it, drop me a message. Perhaps I forgot to list it.

I have experience packing and shipping car parts (I took apart 4 donor cars to get parts for my 95 Ford Thunderbird I used for a decade of 24 Hours of lemons racing and even shipped worldwide) so even for some of the odd-shaped items (ex: gas tanks, etc), I’m sure we can come up with a way to get them to you from my home in San Francisco, CA.

Engine Bay/Rear - $18,000

  • Engine ran well enough to drive on/off the flatbed, shifted smoothly (as well as any ferrari transmission can shift when cold) enough to drive around the block before driving it into my garage and onto the lift where it will remain until it runs on EV power.
    
    
  • Only issue I'm aware of is that the water pump needs replacing/repair. The seller was waiting for one (he didn't want to send it out to be rebuilt) and then I came along willing to buy the whole car AS-IS. Since neither of us wanted to wait for the WP and I didn't want to throw any money into an engine that I was going to pull anyway, I just ran it for short stints (<3 min) to get the car on/off the transporter, around the block, and into my garage.
    
    
  • Engine and transmission oils looked decent (not sparkly/sludgy) when I drained them 2 days ago. FWIW, I was surprised at how much this car holds (something like 15qts between the engine and the transmission).
    
    
  • I now have the engine bolted to a pallet through some 2x4 supports using the 4 engine mounts.
    
    
  • A lifting strap is included with the sale (once I lowered the engine into place, there was no easy way to recover my strap). Oh well.
    
    
  • Pickup will be from my home garage in San Francisco OR we can arrange for shipment on your dime. I will be able to roll it out of my garage for pickup but we will need to figure out a way to get it onto your vehicle (i.e.: if you freight ship it, make sure they bring a truck with a liftgate)

  • As with the rest of the car, these too are in pretty good condition. One thing that surprised me was when I realized that what first appeared to be dents on the rear of the tanks are actually intentional and necessary in order to drop the gastanks and clear the nub in the frame crossmember that the shifter rod fits through.

  • I currently have them wrapped in bubble wrap, spooning each other, and in a single box with additional bubble wrapping.. They will likely trigger dimensional weight but can probably go UPS, USPS, Greyhound Busshipper, or Fastenal store-to-store (I've used first three successfully and have heard good things about the 4th option).

  • This was one of the hardest pieces to remove from the car.
    
    
  • I had to drill out several rivets, not all of which were entirely visible, in order to extract this piece of fiberglass/composite material out.
    
    
  • Its intact but some of the screw/rivet points are torn (see pictures).
    
    
  • Overall in pretty good shape. The other, rearward, piece that holds the spare tire was broken by a previous owner (must have run over something and cracked the bottom) so I tossed it.
