The shock mounts for the evap valves on my car were failing. So as usual I checked the Ferrari sources and then went shopping. $13.00 from a Ferrari parts house; 4 for $2.39 from Ebay, free shipping. And if you need SS the nuts, $15.00 each from the Ferrari source; 10 for $2.46 from Ebay (50 for $5.02). Sure, we have all seen this before, but I just can't get over that anyone would charge, and anyone would actually pay 20 to 60 times what the part can be bought for elsewhere. Now, before you post that the new part isn't exactly the same shape as the original, it's a shock mount for crying out loud! If you must have the original feel free to spend you money as you choose.

    /sarcasm on/

Well you can butcher your car with ebay parts but my car is a pristine example using only Ferrari supplied parts installed by the only people on Earth qualified to do so, and that makes me a better person.

John, I know these are on the 2 air boxes but haven't noticed any other while I've been working in the engine bay. Where are these? Are you talking about the AC evaporator in the front trunk?

Totally with you on this old man.

There are plenty of generic fasteners, that if you buy from ferrari

    1) What ferrari sends you is some mass produced general/generic fasteners you can get at any place like McMaster Carr, fastenal, ebay ect the items can be replaced with like items.

    2) most of these parts when bought from ferrari are not identical to the original anyway, they may even be plated in a different color/compound. Say you try to buy the nuts that hold the under belly pans on the 355, The original factory part had a rubber tip on the nut similar to an acorn nut but the tip is rubber. If you order this part number from Ferrari you will get a basic nut in 6mm × 1.0 thread. No rubber topper not even acorned, just a similar part that will do the jobbut it is not the part you think your getting.

You can buy a box of 100 nuts for the price ferrari wants for one and you'll get the same nut from them.

If it's nothing critical, suspension, engine internal parts, I'm all for getting a suitable replacment for pennies instead of wasting money like Ferrari wants you to.

Other items I would only buy from ferrari depends on what your doing.

+1. Couldn't agree more. Needed a bosch relay, called Ferrari, price was something like 45$ and not in stock, one day wait. Online it was around 7$ shipped for free from Amazon.
