I think If you worked in a landfill, you should be able to keep whatever you find..

No kidding. Especially expired beer.

I mean it's being thrown away/buried. This is just stupid.

The city was probably having it's Annual City Ball at the landfill and 'needed' the refreshments!

 

That's just sad.....

I think the Michelob company should send them a couple of cases of fresh beer each in goodwill.....

 

By the same token, I do understand the city's liability position. And it didn't help they used city vehicles to take it. I wonder what would have happened if they submitted a request to take the beer and signed a release.

 

The person who should be jailed is the dummy who let the beer expire in the first place...

NOT on my watch, I'm telling you.

 

Reminds me of a old joke I heard as a kid.

Two old Irishman are talking about their final days.

One says to the other, "Shamus my son. Please take this bottle of my finest whiskey and poor it over my grave when I'm gone".

The other man says "Certainly my dear friend Ethan. I'd be honored to. You don't mind if I strain it through my kidneys first, do ya?"

 

I can understand the issue of them using a state vehicle to transport the beer away; however, I find it ridiculous their considering it stolen property when it was to be destroyed anyway. It would be the same if they hauled off a bunch of "expired" potato chip bags or the like.

Go find a beer that's a year or two old. You probably want to vomit.

Sounds like nothing more than a gummint employee (or ten) found an exploitable opportunity to justify his job.

 

They can always 'return' the beer. Just think of it as extra filtered.
