A gentleman on the 456/550/575 forum is trying to figure out what Ferrari P/N 163826 is. On some parts websites it's described as a tester and on others, a resistor. This part is fitted to both the 550 and the F355.

He thinks it's a dummy resistor which allows you to disable the passenger airbag.

I haven't had my dash apart, so I don't know if my car has this device and looking at the photos online, I can't tell if it's a terminator or inline plug. The "R.42" printed on the side suggests it is 0.42 ohms, not what I would expect for a dummy resistor (to fool the Airbag ECU) if the airbag resistance is similar to the steering wheel airbag. 3.3 ohm resistors have been used to fool the Airbag ECU (that a steering wheel bag has been fitted).

I don't have a wiring diagram for the airbag system on either the F355 or the 550.

    Experts? Thanks in advance.
