My FF did not come with the passenger display. I think it's kind of cool. I saw that there are a few places selling the unit by itself for around $1,500. Is it something that an F dealership would have to install? I can see in some of the pics that it has one wire with a clip connection but I'm not sure what needs to be removed to install it or how easy it is to get it clipped in. I've attached a picture of the item for sale. My FF is a 2012 so I'm also not sure if this part will fit or not. I've pulled up some google images to see what it looks like installed and I see that there is a "Display" button, which right now is my button used to open the tray compartment. I don't see the button included in this item. The heavy silver trim is throwing me too. Thoughts?

I asked my dealership about this, I got an answer I didn't like so if you figure this out I am super interested for my car.

Not sure it'll help but here are two photos of the unit installed in or car. It looks like you'd need the display, a clear screen to cover the entire surface as well as the button.

It would be interesting to see if the wiring is there already.
