Some of you may have seen the latest news that a fellow F-chatter, ben_lj passed in a car accident today. You can see the thread at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61681. I wanted to post this, b/c lately all i've seen is people fighting over the dumbest things. You've made F-chat into a place to take your frustration out on others b/c you don't like their opinions or who they are, etc. There has been too much bickering by you guys like little 10 year old girls fighting over a barbie, I won't name names but see there are much more important things in life like life itself. If you think I should shut up and stay away, than in all seriousness kiss my a$$. I'm not a genius when it comes to cars, I know what I know and learn every day; I don't try to answer questions I have no answer too, but atleast i'm grounded in reality and realize that cars and your little fights between eachother don't even compare to what really matters, Life.

With all that said, he died doing what he loved and may he R.I.P. For the rest of you, just enjoy everyday you have b/c you never know when it will end.

You know racing much better than I Rob: would a roll-cage have helped here, since the car seems to have hit the concrete wall sideways at impact?

Depends on the cause of death, looks like someone went through the windshield. But a roll cage and harnesses with the same crash would have greatly increased ones chance of survival, especially in a high speed impact.

Do people believe that since the car is a targa that that contributed? Should targas not be allowed on tracks?

    damn right man!

This time last year I was hanging together with multiple problems from a totally unexpected accident in my Fcar and spent many months in hospital.

I can tell you, there are much bigger issues out there than some of the dumb things people argue over here.

It will happen in a split second and your whole life will change, if you are still with us, so enjoy your time with us and let's all enjoy our passion together.

Condolences to the grieving family and very sad for the children

I haven't posted much here lately, due to personal losses and some other reasons, but after seeing this thread and the one about a cure for cancer and the couple who had a premature baby, I felt compelled to write. Ferrari0324, great way of putting things in perspective. I am never ceased to be amazed at how people take things for granted, whether it be good friends or just good health. I hope God is with ben_lj's family and that they can get through this tragedy. As far as the bickering that you mentioned on f-chat and being grounded in reality, after what I have witnessed in my own life in the past few years, all I can say is if you think you are 100% in charge of your life and everything is fine and dandy, then you are a fool. Your life can be ripped to shreds not just by some accident, but more likely by the people you trust the most. Ferrari0324, I don't think anyone will tell you to shut up....once again, great post. So, on that note, enjoy the good times and don't forget the truly good people in your life...

    Glenn

Oh my goodness...I have followed Ben's many posts since I joined Fchat and relished in the knowledge that he had for not only Fchat but also Rennlist and other sites that he participated in. While I didn't know Ben personally, I feel a tremendous loss this morning and am sitting here in utter amazement. I wish the deepest condolences to his family, friends and all those that have been lucky to know both of these gentlemen.

Brandon your statements are concise and very poignant. Let's focus on what is really important in the short time that we all have to enjoy each others company.

When I found this news out last night i was in a state of disbelief. Although I didnt personally know Ben i followed his posts and he was a great guy to say the least. He will always be remembered and may he rest in peace. My condolences go to his family, the passengers family, people at the track who witnessed this, and everyone who knew Ben.
