On a US '91 Mondial T, Does anyone know the location of the left & right passive seat belt control units?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I saw that diagram, but it really doesn't show exactly where it's located. Maybe somewhere in the foot/kick panel area?

If its not on the side mouse rail or located under the seat, (looks like this black box), maybe buried down in the center console up near the foot well area like in (512TR). There should be one controller for each front seat, so you will have a left unit & right unit.

Thanks for that info, I'll check there after work today. I've got abut 95% of that stupid contraption (auto belt system) removed and replaced with a manual shoulder belt. I've been under the dash more than a few times but now that I know what I'm looking for it should be easier. Thank you again.

Both control units are in the center console, passenger side, to the right and a bit behind the radio. They are screwed together and they are a bear to remove. I set my seat belts mice to the locked "drive" position and removed the control boxes. It's a very flakey system. If the mice get hung up for any reason the system shuts down until the next time you start the car. There are mini relays in the control boxes that need to have their contacts cleaned with a burnishing tool to make the system work. It usually works for a while, then you are back to the same issues all over again.

    Ask me how I know.

    Thanks David,
Actually my system was working perfectly but I decided that Enzo would not be upset with me if I removed it. I started by removing the inertia reel belts from the rear seats and replacing them with a standard type "tighten it yourself" seat belt. If some poor soul actually has to sit back there at least they'll be safe(sorta). After removing the mouse track assembly I used that anchor point on the frame rail(sill)outboard side of the front seats to attached the rear seat female seat belt(with release button) portion there. Then I removed the male seatbelt end from the rear seat belt inertia reel and had it re-sewn to the front shoulder belt. So now you have to manually fasten two belts when you get in. Put the seat belt on as usual, then grab the shoulder belt and fasten to the outside point manually. Got rid of about 15lbs of ugly weight. Works great. Best part is now I can sit on the sill if I want and not be impaled on that fixed male piece on the sill.
