    i have a passport 8500 x50 and there is something seriously wrong with it. it detects K, Ka, and X bands fine, but randomly the LASER will just go consecutively 3 or 4 times for no reason. I know there isn't LASER being shot because sometimes it goes off in my driveway. It is bad in the city on the country highways it seems to be okay. Any people familiar with this? or know of any solutions? Thanks.

    my Bel does that from time to time. so does an older laser detector i have. i swear its the plug wires in my 911 that set it off, and something in my Nissian Frontier P-up sets them off as well. i live near to and work at the airport, so some of the insturment landing beacons may be sending up signals mine pick up. (???) my Bel is only a year old and is the "top " model. i was going to get a 8500 soon for the 308 since the Bel lives in my 911. sucks to read you are having a problem with your 8500 and false laser alerts as well.

    my bel will freak out with laser in a timed pattern. its like a sensor sweep from space or something :) . it will only do it in certain areas, so i am about acustomed to it by now.

    i hope someone who actually can help you replies.

    at least you are not alone , and its not just an 8500 thing!

    I have the X50 and I have the same problem. The Laser just goes off for no damn reason and it is freaking loud and annoying as hell. I have no idea how to fix it. I considered turning off the Laser, but that might not be a good idea.

    Lately on my 8500 I'm not getting any laser reading. With laser it's too late anyway but it's nice to know it's around. I read recently that those upper break lights on a Lincoln Navigator were sending out false readings on V1's so maybe there is a similar problem. Google it and somewhere this should come up. Let us know?

    On the drive back home, I found that it is only at a slower speed the X50 starts acting up. When I am on the highway and going about 30+mph it acts as a normal one. However, when I break to a stop at a light, it immediately goes into a tirade of LASER alerts. I dont know if that helps anyone..but just a pattern. How do you turn off just LASER on the X50 though?
