Wonder why they called it "amagnetic" instead of "antimagnetic"?

It is a beautiful watch, very elegant!

I am a collector myself of vintage watches, and love seeing that there are more (crazy) guys like me out there!

    Love this watch.

What are your plans for it? I remember at one point you were thinking of selling....

My plan is to sell it. I'm in the process of trying to establish a value. An auction house would be my last choice.
I've had the watch for 30+ yrs. and generally don't where watches any more.
I listed it last year, then discovered the dial type had been slightly disfigured by a local jeweler that repaired the watch in the '90. I sent the watch to Patek in Geneva earlier this year to get the dial restored and a service. The watch had a complete mechanical restoration in 2009. So, it's in like new condition.
Once I establish a value I'll list it in the for sale section, as well as some of the watch sites.

If your watch is missing the inner, soft iron caseback please be aware of that it is worth less than a complete example!

    Excellent!
Your pictures on earlier thread did not show one, I think I remember.

If I was you I would try Antiquorum to sell it.

High end companies take their time to restore the watches but the result is always perfect.

Were you at the Ritz Carlton a couple months back for a breast cancer fundraiser by chance?

No kidding about taking time, I dropped off my Patek for service 9/12/15. ETA is 5/11/16

    Yes. With my wife.
I wore a JLC Reverso Sun Moon.

We go to most major fund raisers here on island. Except the Humane Society one as do not believe in that cause.

It s not a fundraiser, but we have been going to some Cookout events each year ( since they started) but will not go this year. Disappointed with last years events we went to, plus hugely overprised now imo!

Beautiful piece. I've been on the hunt for a specific JLC myself for a while now with no luck (AMVOX Transponder model # 192T48A or 192T480)

Funny, I was one of two guys that sort of crashed the fundraiser later in the eve. Was in a polo and shorts :)

Thought I'd up date my watch. Will list it on ebay in the next day or so, $28,000 starting bid w/no reserve. Ebay changed the policy again and now requires everything through paypal, which I won't do. So, it will be listed as "local pickup".

It was pointed out to me by a couple of collectors that the font on "Almagnetic" was not quite right. I contacted the US Patek rep who stated "they'd get back to me", never happened. The rep finally admitted there was a concern about having the correct font. They didn't, but went ahead and replaced the dial. They didn't bother to tell me this either before or after the restoration.
I did receive the "Extract from the Archives". The manufacturing date was 1960. It states for "type of dial: not mentioned.
