ps buy a couple of extra buckles and put on the straps you like to switch, I have thought of that but the buckles are not cheap as I am sure you know.

I figured. I want to get the tools to do it myself. Got some really cool green and blue straps for the 5270

This is what I’ve done with my Pateks and Langes. Most came with deployant buckles which I left on the original straps, but the spare straps all have buckles on them just to make it easier to switch. It’s a bit of an expense but the reality is factory buckles aren’t going to go down in value anyhow so it’s not a sunk cost.

Let me ask what the cost of a
New buckle is. Probably makes sense to make strap changes easier as much as I don’t want to drop the cash. Lol

Ok I just ordered an extra one. $2500. Well worth it on a 170k watch

Just a word of caution, those fake clasp are shoddy, not all, but most are. If you do buy one, watch out for the pin(s) and/or the logo cross to come undone. I did precisely what you are thinking of doing, bought the fake and almost dropped my watch when the middle pin on the fake clasp came-off. Not sure you want to risk on a $170K watch, just saying.

agree wouldn’t risk the watch with a knock-off clasp. I think the ones in platinum are $8k, just bite the bullet and buy a few!

2500 for the real thing. Already ordered.

but for 50 bucks- not a bad option if only to store the strap and as you guys know/ these buckles get beat up. Regardless, I’m getting one of each- the cheap one more for curiosity than anything.

I haven't looked but knockoff pin buckles would be a safer choice to the clasp if your worried about it getting beaten up? Of course doesn't look the same but I'd trust the buckle over the clasp.

Agree - but the watch came with a deployant clasp abs I already ordered two custom straps for deployant. What I should have done was get one strap with a pin buckle. I guess I still could….

What did you end up going with? That 5370 is probably my favorite of the bunch

Went with 5370 but definitely wear the 5740 the most.

You can't knock the product, but the only one that ever appealed to me is the classic Calatrava.

Ok guys - it’s Patek time for me. Huge success at work this year after a very challenging start of the year and I want a watch that reminds me that if you stick to plan and work very hard you can really achieve anything you want. I’m getting a 5524 which I love. This would be my 1st PP and I don’t have a pre-existing relationship with the dealer. How do I make sure I get a good deal? Don’t mind paying full price but I do want to make sure I am treated well. Is there a list of ‘extras’ (winder, extra strap, etc) that may not necessarily come with the watch but that a good client would be given? Thanks

Oh boy, sorry but if it’s the same as here in the US, you’re going to have to reevaluate that.

It may be the reverse: you may be thanking the AD for the allocation before the AD is thanking you for the purchase … unless you have a long purchase history with them.
