Has Passed. What a blessed life.
Sad indeed. He was so much more than your typical Hollywood celebrity. A man of substance and style. He will be missed.
with half of the life that Paul Newman lived! What a life, a man who lived it all and a his presence will be eternally missed!!!
Basically a picture perfect life the man had.. a beautiful classy wife.. had everything in the world.. was more generous to charity than you can possibly imagine.. The man was a giant.. oh and lest we not forget.. the man Loved auto racing with a passion and also owned ferraris.. Wish I could have met him
Very sad. Here are some great period racing photos of Newman: http://www.sportscardigest.com/archives/1785
RIP Paul Newman. From The Hustler and Cool Hand Luke on, a lifetime favorite, and one of the last of his generation's greats.
He was my idol at one time, he was a legend, a great race driver and an outstanding actor. He will be missed, I know I do already
PL Newman.. ill always remember him back when he was racing in SCCA and IMSA!he was a just another racer who acted part time! his jokes in the drivers meeetings always took the edge off!
Exceptionally tolerant of others' foibles, he explained, "I used to be a fool myself." "If I leave a legacy," he said in 2006, "it will be the camps." ... he turned up at a meeting of parents and children at the first camp and reportedly said: "I wanted to acknowledge luck. The beneficence of it in many lives and the brutality of it in the lives of others, especially children, who might not have a lifetime to make up for it." What a truly kind man. That just breaks my heart, I am in tears. I've made a small donation to his camps. If others wish to do the same, here is a link: http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org RIP Paul. And thank you.
some more racing pics from Bridgehampton, old school http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/motorsports/40184-bridgehampton-race-circuit-aftermath.html Two days ago I happen to take a pic of some Paul Newman memorabilia that has graced my garage for decades. It is framed, I really wish I could have gotten it signed down in Connecticut at an event Image Unavailable, Please Login
i used to love seeing newman at summit point in the 70's. i think he drove for datsun at the time. I even worked race control on the grid with him and timing and scoring. back when we did it with a stopwatch, pencil and paper.
RIP. Sad to see him go but Paul Newman lived life to its fullest touching many people in acting, racing and through his numerous charities. What a great guy, he'll be missed.
I remember walking by him at Road Atlanta. He was walking with a female and a wedge of people (about 50), following behind him.
His charrity work blows my mind. Hopefully we all take a lesson from him even in a small way. I can't believe he drove a 510 similar to my old race car.
When I was very young, my father took to see Slapshot, I was a side of Paul that I really enjoyed & I thank him for that. Other than that I can't say what's already been said by everyone else. Thanks Paul, RIP, & God Speed.
