    Among the very first friends to visit the late tenor's house, early this morning in Modena, was Pavarotti's dear friend Piero Ferrari, son of the founder of Ferrari cars in nearby Maranello and VicePresident of the automotive giant.

    Around 7AM (Pavarotti had died only two hours before) a distraught Piero Ferrari paid his respects and then, his face as gray as his suit, exchanged a few words with the media stationed in front of the Pavarotti family home. Ferrari mentioned that he said goodbye to Pavarotti "three days ago... he was a great fighter, still... what did we say to each other? Sometimes you don't need words".

    I think he owned quite a few and loved them but i remember a TV show about him mentioned he couldnt drive them anymore because he didnt fit.

    I met him in Montreal about 15 years ago. Great person and was friendly.

    In many of the biography's on Enzo Ferrari it mentions that Enzo started out trying to be an opera singer but did not have the voice. Perhaps that was part of the connection.

    I do know that Pavarotti was an Honorary Member of the FCA and FOC.

    Pavarotti was well known as a big Maserati fan.
    He had several. Not sure he ever owned a Ferrari

    I seem to remember a few years ago that Ferrari gave an F40 to Pavarotti as a gift but he hadnt driven it due to the fact he couldnt get in it but that in no way diminished his obvious joy at owning it.
