My maintenance is due and I realize it’s free, but the dealer tells me that I don’t qualify with enough miles for the oil change. So I would be paying to transport the 812 125 miles each way for them to replace a cabin filter. If I did this myself would it void the maintenance going forward? Sounds crazy .

If you have not done enough miles for an oil change then the cabin filter will not be nearly dirty enough to require changing. If you change it yourself it will absolutely not void the warranty.

Another thought is to drive the 812 more to make the most of the free maintenance and to never have these worries again :)

It would be helpful to to others if you post up the procedure to replace the filter if you choose to do it yourself.

Id imagine there is an inspection

Either take it there or dont!

Id like to keep the warranty if it was mine

Low mileage doesn’t matter if it’s a new car. The maintenance is based on mileage and/or time. Many new Ferrari’s don’t hit the annual mileage so the 12 months is the trigger for the scheduled maintenance.

As someone who hits the annual mileage, it’s a time based thing.

Also, the cabin filter is accessed from inside for replacement. You’ll have to remove a panel or 2 to get to it.

I’ve had similar scenarios with my Lusso. Some maintenance that was due and is free was not lined up with the annual. My dealer said I need not make a trip (which I pay for transport) and they would keep it in the system and do it the next time around.
