I requested pics of a Ferrari that is for sale @ a well known french classic cars dealer ( Mostly Ferraris ) . Talked with him on the phone , both my dad and my self. Gave my mail . Called him again . Still no pics ( Since Monday )

Is it usual for dealers to have this unprofessional behaviour ?
    He just lost a sale..

dumbfound behavior yes but not unsual....i had a very similar experience 4 wks ago with symbolic motors. i was interested in a yellow diablo they have in their showroom (it's been in their inventory for over 7 months so you'd think they're motivated)....and i was practically ready to hand over money same day "at their asking price" but the guy didn't take me serious. he wouln't give me the time of day and never call me back after repeated attempts.

a month ago, i also had a similar experience with another ferrari dealer (a member of this board...who will remain unnamed). i was interested in one of the f-cars he has in his inventory but he never acknowledged my existence or replied to my inquiry.....that's unfortunate for them since i'm one of those people who buy cars on impulse and make decision on the fly...LOL.

in the end, symbolic motors lost a potential sale as two days later, i bought a beautiful yellow diablo from a fellow f-chatter.....(still haven't heard from symbolic to this day...and yes, the car is still sitting in their inventory as of last week)

btw, it's too bad you aren't in the state....i'd recommend johnathan peck of lamborghini of dallas w/o reserve. great folks.

    Tom,

First of all congrats on the purchase :)
What year is the Diablo ?

That (bad) experience with this dealer had me thinking. How most of them react when they deal with someone they do not know ? And as you said , there are prob a lot of pple who buy on impulse ( My dad is like that ). Either they know their clients and wont deal with anyone new since they wont answer, aknowledge your demands etc..Or they act as professional and treat new/potential customers as they treat their loyals . All i asked was pictures of a Daytona Gr4 conversion .

Im thinking if i should call him tomorrow again and either ask once more or let him know what i think...

    Im more disappointed than pissed..

I'm not debating, but ... I have no idea what mail service is like in France, but were that to happen here (requested Monday, not arrived by Thursday), I'd just chalk it up to the USPS.

For every customer actually purchasing, these dealers probably get 100 tire kickers. I'd say that's the reason for the lousy follow up. It seems like it is up to the customer to sell the dealer that they are for real. I've found if you mention what you currently own they seem to take notice and presume that you are serious. Obviously face-to-face is better.
