Watching the Porsche Club at the Circuit of the Americas.

What a great venue. I am here working at the track as an architectural / landscape photographer covering the facility and track.

The Porsche club is here for three days and have been at it since a hurricane blew through this morning. It was very wet - saw one car spin. No accidents so far. One lone ferrari 355 that has yet to take the track in the paddock. Really great cars out there. Most are track only racers but there are a few that did not trailer here.

Sorry that I have not processed the images yet. Too busy shooting.

Makes me want to buy a Cayman and make it track only...

I will be back for the F1 race. What an amazing course.

Just starting to process images back at the hotel.

While I did shoot some Porsche's in between my architectural assignment, I was drawn to the lone 355 (I'm biassed as a Yellow 355 owner) out of 400 cars hitting the track.

Hopefully I can locate the owner so I can send him a number of images from his time on track.

    Rob,

That CoTA F1 track is just Amazing! It’s smooth and those corners are technical which take time to learn. The change in elevation throughout the track is an experience in itself. On the back straight between T11 & T12 I was able to hit 135+ mph before slamming the brakes entering T12. With each lap attempt exiting T11 I would try going faster out and break much deeper as I approach T12 while not trying to overshoot the apex, I could smell those brake pads roasting!

I have some HD videos that I am working on to add the AiM Solo DL data overlay for lap times, speed and rpm, track map info which will be uploaded to youtube when I am done.

I truly made the most of the limited track time available. Big thanks to all that helped pull this off. To be a part of the history in this exciting new venue is a bonus chapter to an exciting season to come. We even had a F1 Garage with 2 private bathrooms! The infield facilities that are not open to the public during F1 we open for us during our Club Race/DE weekend at COTA. Absolutely Amazing!

PS. Best Quote of the weekend by Porsche owner: That Ferrari's Lost, this is a Porsche Club Race!

    Ciao,

    SRR,

You looked good out there - and sounded better than the rest... But I am biased.

I will send you some full size files of your car.

Send me an email. I'm sure ill have some fun questions about your car out there.

    Best.
