A friend and I are planning to make the trip Pebble for the big events in August. We both live in New Orleans, LA and will start there on August 7..arriving at Pebble if all goes as planned on August 12. I will be driving my 1987 328 GTS and he will either be in his 1977 308 GTB or 355 Berlinetta. We plan to sleep in the following cities in this order: 7th in Shreveport, LA; 8th in Amarillo, TX; 9th Holbrook, AZ; 10th Las Vegas, NV; 11th Cambia, CA and then up Hwy 1 to Pebble for the rest of the week. We will be traveling a good bit on Route 66 and making slight detours to take in the major sights.

Yes...it's ambitious in these old cars, but we are going to give it a shot. Anyone want to join us at any point on the journey? If you can't join us, pray for us! Should be interesting!

Sounds like a blast! Love road trips.

Drove from NY to LA last year.

I'm driving up in my 458 from Los Angeles for the Concours week in Monterey, also arriving on the 12th I think.

Very cool! Should be a adventure!

I only live 45 minutes away from Monterey so I always go.

Services completed. Cars detailed. Bags packed.

Getting fired up about the cross country drive in 28 and 38 year old cars. Packed some tools and other potentially helpful items....keeping fingers crossed.

    Praying for mild weather.

Let us know if you are also driving to Pebble.

Seems like a wonderfull road trip.
Having done numerous cross country drives, most with vintage cars 20-30 years ago, I can relate to your excitement.
Although not as long a journey as yours, I plan to take couple of days to get up there (and back) for my annual 1000+ mile, week and a half "pilgrimage" in a 83 years old Roadster with 60-65 years old running gear and no "modern" creature comforts or driving assists, while the route is mapped to include only "old school" scenic 2-lane highways and back roads.
    Good luck and enjoy !
