Apparently Pennzoil is discontinuing their Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5W-40 with the Ferrari endorsement on the bottle. The new oil is Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40. Seems pretty hard to find right now. Don't really need any yet, but I like to keep the next oil change in stock.

Anybody know anything about this new oil?

Yes, The previous Ferrari approved Pennzoil Ultra Euro 5W-40 is really going away.

The photo is the new Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 Pure Plus that is also the new Ferrari approved oil. I have found it for sale on the internet at only one place so far, at $25.00/quart. Price should hopefully come back to earth when a bigger supply is shipped to more sellers. I'm waiting.

Just to keep everyone confused, there is also a Pennzoil Platinum 5W-40 European Formula oil. Different bottle. Different oil. No Ferrari approval. It usually confuses your search attempts though.

Thanks JR. I've used the ultra euro the past two seasons and will be doing the change in March. No way I'm paying $25 quart. Have to decide on an alternative

    Best price in my area
For Red Line is $22.35 a bottle! No way paying for hyped up brand names.
Actually getting hard to find, stores stopped carrying it.
Used the Rotella T-6 in my Kawasaki 1400 Ninja, superb results.
Posted a thread trying to get input on what people use for engine and trans oil, only a couple responses. Would be nice to get more input, then a person can make a better decision what works just as good as hyped up brands. Can get Amsoil at $13 a bottle, and seems superior to RL, so might try that route first.

Motul 8100 5w-40. Doesn't foam like Pennzoil. About $10/L at Turner Motorsports.

Update, got a great price on Redline 5W-40 here in BC.
Store manager gave it to me for $13 a liter. Couldn't get a zinc content number for the Amsoil, so avoided it.

Liqui Molly is what we use at the shop. 25 bucks a liter is crazy. Total is another brand we use.
