Thinking about this some more, I believe Mr. Warburton is telling the world there's a contract in place that he'd like to see honored by both parties who entered into it. We've heard this before in regard to COTA.

maybe that's how IndyCar gets to COTA? Penske is promoter of a Indy/V8SC double header? or maybe at Detroit as well?

I can't see what's in it for Roger otherwise. I don't understand the Volvo connection mentioned in that first link.

Maybe. Or you might see the same kind of pairing somewhere else.

Without actually checking on this, V8 supercars used to be made up of Aussie built silohouette production models. With Ford closing its Australian built Falcon line up - the series needed a replacement model - and Volvo stepped in. The series now has international manufacturing involved, so world wide circuits make more sense now.

I've always hoped this series could go big time, they have a good format and great racing. I wonder if the cars are built to a safety spec that would allow them to run an Oval race.

right but I'm not sure of a Penske/Volvo link, other than his car dealership chain owning some franchises. Mercedes and Nissan are in V8SC now too, they didn't mention them...

I hope this happens but not sure why Roger would want to be the point man.
