The good news is that the new deal will eventually be a win-win for Vegas locals.

Towbin is going to invest a lot in the dealership and FNA has agreed to increase Towbin's quota from Wynn's.

So, hopefully we will get more cars and quicker.

Hey Mayor , if you have any contacts at the Wynn try and score the exterior light scones still up with the prancing pony cut outs. I would love a pair myself :)

I'm sure Wynn owns them. They stripped EVERYTHING, even the things nailed down. :)

That is what I was told by two people at the Ferrari merchandise store, one being the manager.

For me having the dealership at the Wynn was just another reason to spend some time there periodically and enjoy the synergy between Ferrari and the luxurious surroundings, so I'm going to miss it even though I don't service my car in LV.

One interesting fact I learned on my last visit is that the Ferrari Store at the Wynn is the only one NOT owned by Ferrari. It is (at least according a clerk there) owned by Wynn (not sure if the company or personally). How did I come to discover that fact? I tried using a $100 gift card I've had for a while and they said they don't take them!

Big letdown to say the least. Doesn't reflect well on Wynn or Ferrari in my opinion regardless of what kind of issues they may or may not have had with each other.

Totally agree with John. Maybe a bigger loss for visitors to Vegas than for LV locals, but there was something really special about being able to wander into a showroom of the best automotive brand the world has known, on the most entertaining strip in the world.

My wife and I bought one of the last Fcars sold at Penske-Wynn in October. Later this month we are headed back to LV for the first time since. Will be be visiting Towbin? No interest at all. Just another car dealer. Better inventory here locally on the east coast.

It was the great location (and of course superb team they built) that made P-W special. Gone now. Will really miss it. In Vegas, location, location, location.

I never visited the Wynn store, but my wife had taken photos of it, and it looked very impressive.

I stopped into Towbin the other day and was not enthused by dealership. Maybe it was the timing, but got a rather lackluster impression of the current facility. The computers seemed to have everyone engrossed in what they were doing, and paid little attention to anyone on the floor. To their credit the current location of inventory and Ferrari sales is not ideal, and maybe the new facility will help that.

Hopefully it was an anomaly, but it was certainly a discouraging visit.

It's temporary. They made the change in less than three weeks. Speed kills.

On the plus side for locals is FNA is supposed to give us more allotment. I'd rather have a car faster than a pretty showroom.

Anyone who has been to Ferrari Beverly Hills will tell you, you'll say "is this really Beverly Hills?" And their repair shop is 5 miles away in West LA in what looks like a brick warehouse.

Doesn't seem to hurt their business none.

+ 1 on everything, Including Beverly Hills !!

The new showroom is going to be built, Front part of the dealership on Sahara, and all the parking in the back is going to be covered.

I'll be driving down tomorrow, I've been there every month since they took over, things seem to be improving.

New alignment rack etc... So little by little.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Yes, if you've ever been through the Ferrari Store it's usually very lightly trafficked. Maybe 1-4 people in there, lots of browsing (prices are 20-50% more than online)... for high-rent casino retail, I can't see the revenue working out.

True. I stop in to look. And, buy. Got a great price on Tods that were on closeout (half off) once, but bargains are few and far between...T

It would do best as a substore display within Neiman Marcus or Saks. I think that a $100 shirt would be more palatable when surrounded by other $100-300 shirts. $400 loafers look more reasonable next to $800 shoes.

Perversely, I suspect that browsers *want* to be shocked by the prices, because they have the thought that Ferraris are all crazy expensive.

Agreed! Vegas is where much of America comes to be shocked. I, myself, was shocked to find a good price on something I actually wanted! :)

I don't know who owns it, but they do have a Ferrari Store clothing kiosk I believe on the 2nd floor of the Fashion Show Mall. I know I saw it there last month. I didn't examine it up close or talk to anyone there, but it has some decent signage and is a little larger than an average kiosk. Its sorta of an endcap bordering the glass railing. It did have a little more upscale appearance compared to the crammed junk most kiosks look like. I can only assume it's a Wynn Ferrari Store offshoot. I can't imagine FNA licensing these little kiosks to some average Joe who wants to make a living selling Ferrari shirts in a mall.

There's one in the airport as well (a Mini Kiosk version). Personally -- I'm not impressed.

1st Quarter 'Prancing Horse' arrived at my door this week. Short three paragraph mention of "Steve Wynn Loses Ferrari", with very vague politically correct reference to needing to repurpose the valuable floor space. Right. Come on FCA!

At least the article ends with 'The move is a sad ending for what may have been the highest profile Ferrari store in the world'. Sad indeed.

So, since Rich and gang moved to Towbin, has anybody considered using an independant for service?? Is there anyone out there in Vegas who can work on our cars reliably? I have heard about Little Italy Service, but when i talked to them about clutch service on my 430, they were pretty vague on how they were goint to set PIS......

I don't know about independent service but I'm sure there are good mechanics around who can take care of earlier model F cars.

Some of you know I had my own shop in the 80's and mid 90's working on exotics in LA. I got out of the business when the 355 showed up. The reason? There's just too much electronics and hydraulic stuff that required specialized equipment and training. The risk to my business of screwing up a car was too high. Working on a 328 or earlier is really easy. Working on more modern cars was just too risky for me to take on.

In fact, in those days the dealers encouraged independents because they could not handle the massive increase in the servicing and repair business after the 308 came on the scene. It used to be a win-win. For many 308's it was more common to use independent service than dealer service after the warranty expired.

I'm sure there are some shops that can do just as good as service as dealers on modern cars. But, the Towbin mechanics are the same guys who worked for Penske for 10 years with the correct training and tools and experience. If you look at Ryalex's experience with his "new" 355, Towbin figured out an old nagging problem from the car's previous owner in just a few minutes. Finding the problem quickly saves money.

So, I don't see a big advantage going outside given they are clearly the best and you're car should be worth the best. But it's up to each owner to decide what is "best" for their car.

The biggest difference I see in the way dealer service is done in LA vs LV is that it's much more personable in LV. That hasn't changed in the move so it seems like the Towbin management has understood the way Penske service was working didn't need to be "retooled" for "the Towbin way". In fact, it think it's becoming the opposite which is good for everyone. I think Rich has also taken over the Rolls Royce servicing group there.

Wonder if it has reopened somewhere else in LV
