The latest in the Checo saga is that he has had a 50 percent pay cut from the $14m he was getting. Apparently, there is a clause in his contract that if he finished 150 points or more behind Verstappen, this clause would come into force for 2025.

The utter flak Ricci suffered should be double for Checo.
Winning car and CANT WIN much less not on the podium much at all.
He has failed and no amount of sponsorship brought in is justification lol. RedBull has zero issues finding new sponsors now.
He is not that good. Much like Stroll just blocking a seat that could be offered to others with more talent.

Perez must know about all of RedBulls cheats. so they keep him close. when they do remove him as a driver he may take on another role with RB such as a brand ambassador etc.

From this video alone I was 100% expecting Perez to fail and not get out of Q1. Driving EA's F1 video game, not sure could even call it a sim, but Perez looked terrible haha.

We know Perez is not even close to Max, everyone knows that. But surely the Red Bull is better than the Haas, the Williams, the RB, and for sure better than the AMR or Sauber. I get anyone can have a bad day and anyone can have a great day. But another Q1 exit behind those teams. That's just awful.

 

Perez is keeping that seat as he must have dixk pix from Horner.

 

I am gobsmacked by yet another failure to go beyond Q1 for Sergio Perez. This is appalling.
I know qualif is about timing and traffic, but I can't believe that Perez cannot extract more from his car with all his years of experience.

 

With Hugh Bird as race enginner, no one can extract more from the car...

 

Didn't seem to be a problem when Hugh was Max's engineer.

Perez's main problem is unable to adapt to ground effect cars. Same issue for Ricciardo and to Lewis (though to a lesser degree).

I am prety sure Checo is simply riding the wave, or in other words, kicking the can down the road, and thinking....I can get $20 Mil now if they sack me before Xmas, or I get $20 Mil by 2025's season end, plus I have fun racing another year. He's got nothing else to loose at this time, he knows he isnt going to last in F1, he knows his F1 career is over, he knows he already is a millionare, so why bother?

It's actually amazing how the opinion on Perez shifted since he became Max's teammate.

Before he was Max's teammate, Perez was known as ''king of the midfield'' and the "pirelli tyre whisperer" that needed another chance in a top team (to young at Mclaren, though he didn't do too badly vs Button). People went as far as saying that RB wouldn't sign Perez because "verstappen is afraid of him".

Now he's apparently F1's biggest joke ever.

There's no doubt in my mind that Perez has to go but who the hell do you replace him with? Sure, Lawson, colapinto would jump at the chance without hesitation but I'm afraid both of them will be spat out in no time. Tsunoda too.

Norris refused, Sainz refused. Piastri Pretty much everyone else decent is on contract anyways. And their reputational damage if Max does the same to them as he did to Albon, Gasly, Perez is something not many can afford to fix.

 

Marko has it all figured out. The new driver is hiding at his villa on Wörthersee and will be revealed after the podium in Yas lol. All of this is a Marko/Horner production and problem. Zero sympathy it was obvious last year they needed - SAINZ. Nope all rumors as to why with literally family involved in CORPROATE racing decision. As smart as we say F1 people are - they appear utterly ridiculous in this situation. Move Perez and try another driver. OMG what a concept lol.
