Where's a good place to shop for aftermarket performance exhaust? While my car is getting worked on I like to put louder muffler on.

I put a nuvolari system on my 3.2 cab when I had my major done about 2 years ago. Quality all polished stainless steel, Nice sound, a bit louder than stock and they offer an even louder "sport" version. Much more price effective than tubi, stebro or other aftermarkets that i found. I believe they are now a sponsor on FChat.

Try a fabspeed sport cat converter with the stock muffler and see if that does it for you, many aftermarket exhausts are too loud and/or resonate in a bad way. The cat probably has the most impact on performance always.

Or you could completely replace the cats with straight pipe (test) units from Ricambi for no restriction at all.
Here in Indiana we do not have an emission test and am pretty sure for cars 25+yrs old there is no requirement for cats.
$300 each and a direct replacement.
Wonder how the stock exhaust would sound without the cats?
    Cheers,
    Greg

You would just get the magnaflow mufflers of your choice and have a shop custom make the piping and mounting brackets.

OK, I know the exclamation marks indicate my preference. And, as a film soundman (retired), I'm aware that aural choices, like visual choices, are very personal.

Here's why I would recommend the XOST system for our Mondies:

    (1) It's certainly more aggressive than stock.
    (2) It's not nearly as "raspy" as another very popular model.
    (3) I've never been "attacked" by audio "DRONE", at any speed.
    (4) And visually, It really completes a quite beautiful rear end presentation (pic for your enjoyment).

BTW - the choice to go with "no cats" will or will not, be in line with your state's smog requirements.
