Does anyone know of a performance shop in the Chicagoland area for Ferrari, lamborghini, Bmw or Porsche.

looking for info on a shop that can handle brakes, exhaust, PERFORMANCE wheels, and ecu upgrades.

    Thanks

amazing how slow this forum moves(I like it). People only answer question that the really have an answer to(I like that also).

    How about these questions;

If there were a performance shop in the in the Chicago land area(not related to FNA), Would you purchase parts or get service there?

Are the loyalties of Ferrari owners to dealers only?

What does the average Ferrari owner here look for in a performance shop to make them feel comfortable?

    Thanks,
    Art

    Hey Art,

The only performance shop that I know is a Viper shop called SVS (Specialty Viper Systems) right behind us in West Chicago. I've only seen Vipers in there, but after seeing some of the stuff they do (1200 HP Vipers, Bonneville racers, etc) I would imagine they know what they are doing.

    Art and Michael,

Doesn't Fox Valley do aftermarket exhausts? A friend of mine who used to collect Lotus mentioned buying parts from FVM as well. I remember when I was looking for a new Viper they mentioned they could help me out. As for me personally you are correct, when I had problems with any of my cars or wanted to upgrade them I went to the factory dealer. Have had this done with resonable labor prices and satisfaction with H2s and many a RT line of Dodge, ( all have had exhaust, computer work done with everything from simple bolt on chips to extensive air management systems.) My Father takes his exotics to the factory dealers, and a friend in my line of work and who is Vette fanatic who has done many mods to his computers and exhausts will only go to a GM backed dealer. If you need any suggestions on these places, feel free to PM. But as for private shop I am sorry I can't help.

There is one not so Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo oriented in Car Boutique. I think they have 3 stores in Chicagoland: Chicago, Wheeling and Schaumburg? Many imports and SUVs go there.

    Hey RocketBoy,
Yes, we do a lot of Tubi, Larini, and Quicksilver exhaust systems, and we also have done some pretty wild stuff to Lotus Esprits using Xtreme Esrpit products, which can bring Esprit V8s up to over 500HP.

About 2 & 1/2 hours South of Chicago (Peoria) a Bosch authorized service shop there (28 years in the business) tunes late model Twin Turbo Porsche's to 600 HP & 700 TQ (dyno proven).

Ferrari service too, and Lotus, M-Benz, BMW etc.

Several Chicago Porsche club members use them via trailer.

You need to provide more data for some of us to help you. What are you trying to do (motor/roll cage/dog box...)? Several places can build you a cage (Baurle, for example). How long do you want an engine, for example, to retain its performance level and what level do you want? -- a weekend/11,000 rpm from a 308 (Bill Pound)? 10 - 100 hours/8500 rpm (QV/PHP)? many years (AutoSprint/Carobu)?
