Hi, Long time reader, first time writer. I own 22115. US spec, beautifully but realistically restored black/tan. I'm trying to install a period correct radio. Having trouble with red wire (power). If it's connected to a red-white ignition wire, the radio stays on all the time even if key is removed. I tried a second red-white ignition wire, and the radio speakers 'pop' when I start the car and radio stays on all the time until key is removed. Not sure if problem is with radio, wiring, or me. Any suggestions or links to previous threads would be appreciated. Thank you,
What type of radio are you putting in? I just did a period Blaupunkt and I love it, but I can't help you with your question, sorry.
I seem to recall there is a radio fuse in the fuse block. This is hot with the ign on and if you can't or it doesn't show one just hook the wire to any fuse that is hot with ign on. It's pretty simple.
Thanks for the input. The radio is a period Becker. Yes, fuse number 6 is radio as well as hazards, interior light & door light. It would be simple enough to connect the radio to wires which pass through fuse #6. But I've got to ask why... why would it have been previously wired to ignition? (not by me) The Ferrari manual shows radio & ignition 'together' in a chart (pg 116) for noise suppressors on alternator, fuel pump, spark plugs-- does this explain why radio was routed through ignition?
