    Hello
I am thinking about getting a permabag auto-pyjama and wonder about what to do with the cable for the battery conditioner.
Anybody know where the cable goes? any special hole for it?
    thanks

Hi, I had the same question so e-mailed them. Here's what they said:

... "Please be informed that we recommend our customers to remove the battery if the car is stored for any length of time.
Should you nevertheless decide that you wish to charge the battery whilst inside the car we strongly recommend you use a "spark-free" charger. This is due to the possible presence of fumes. Some customers have informed us that they access the bag where the zipper ends and then simply tape the hole so no moist air can enter. This however can not be recommended."

Where in the world are you? Have you bought the PermaBag yet?

Considered one for the Alfa we have which is currently kept outside. I have an indoor Carcoon and thought about an outdoor one but they are a bit, well big and obvious.

The overcharging of a batterry in a Permabag and taping has the advantage that the internal atmosphere becomes blown up due to hydrogen and oxygen development ("fumes" :D). No problem for non-smokers, when opening the bag :D.

As I understand, the Permabag does not permanently exchange the internal atmosphere, as e.g. the CarCoon did.

I use a permabag, they are a great product and the car stayed in excellent order for a good couple of years, however when you open it up you do notice the fumes from the fuel tank, they quickly dissipate and have no effect on the car, but I would not risk a spark in there.

I even used it outside for a few months over a typical British winter, with a normal waterproof car cover over the top, stayed bone dry inside when opened up.
