In response to user queries on why certain words are now banned on FChat: Rob and the various moderators periodically review what words are permitted on FChat. In our review, "******" was not used in a medical sense, but instead, in a derogatory manner. A number of users have indicated via PM's and Mod Alerts that they have found the usage offensive, and for this reason, it has been put on the banned list. A number of other words have as well. The list will be periodically reviewed and refined. I'd also note that the banned list only includes the direct spelling of the word. The moderators are not oblivous to the fact that a number of permutations can be used for the same word. One such example is "vaagina." Keeping with the rules of the forum, the moderators will carefully monitor obvious attempts to circumvent banned words by misspelling them. To use a legal catchphrase, we will be enforcing the spirit of the rules of respect governing FChat, not just the letter. Grace period is over.
