It is always interesting to talk to car lovers and get them to talk of their favorite Ferrari. Amazing how polarized those discussions get. Are there some common traits for instance in a 308/328 lover over another favorite? Taste in other things including partners, dress style, introvert/extrovert, flamboyant versus conservative type.

All of us in the 3/X/8 owners world are very cool :) :) All are "Car Guys". Generally not rich, but have done well. Sarcastic, intelligent, and we all like to drive our cars.

i would think it would be more of a money thing. all of us that own 328's would suddenly be GTO "types" if we had the money.

When I first found Ferrari enthusiasts locally through the Flist, I was stunned to learn that the few people in my local area who owned or wanted to own a 308, all owned 1988 Toyota 4runners. Half of us had or presently owned an MGB. A few of us had owned an Alfa GTV.

We probably as a group have a lot more things in common than we imagine, simular perhaps to twins who have been seperated from birth, and when they meet as adults, realise they do many of the same things or have the same desires, like smoke the same cigar, drive the same car, same colors, same hair style, etc.. I never met so many people who shared my same feelings and interests until I started hanging around airplanes and Ferrari's.

But there are also many differences. I really love the early vintage cars, 166mm's, 340 Mexico's, Pontoon 500 and 250 TR's, and I just havnt met anyone yet who shares that interest. And I have also begun to find interest in brass era cars, wherever that puts me on the ladder with others who love 308's. Its really a small world at times.

I would say that Ferrari owners are rather diversified. My father has been a Ferrari owner for 35 years, been through a few very nice cars kept a certain few, I am presently taking care of his first, a 1971 365 GTC/4 and have found that the C4 community is really interesting, most have a few other Ferraris and picked up the C4 because of the great V12 and beautiful styling, even a few original owners, some due to lack of funds to afford a B4 Daytona or a Spider. I am not rich, but I am comfortable especially for a 25 year old, I work finance for the family business but earn my way. Its all relative though, Ferrari is so much more then a car, of course I dont have to say that here but those that do not understand it probably never will, more cars for the rest of us!

Oh also my favorite all time Ferrari would be a 250 GT California LWB ala Ferris Bueller's Day off, my favorite movie growing up, and hell we not only had a V12 Ferrari in the Garage but a red 328 too! I did take the C4 out a few times in High School but alway on prior approval! And right now if I had the $$$ I would go out and buy a F430 Scuderia, thats me.

Artvonne-funny you say that. I too have been looking into brass era cars and I own a 308. Up until about 6 months ago,I had no interest but now I find myself researching the cars.

F355 owners are generally the paranoid type who lie to themselves. I learned this from a very wise man on this forum.
