    I dont see why you arnt allowed animated avatar's its not like they are jam packed with viruses or anything is it?

    What I'm getting at is has somebody specifically said you can't have them? If so, what was the reason given for why they are not allowed.

    TonyH asked me to remove mine. He told me that they had recently been banned. I have no issue with that as this isn't my site. I suppose I would now be interested to know why they are not allowed though. :)

    i vote NO for animated avatars. they're way too distracting. if people were subtle and thoughtful about it it'd be one thing, but one man's trash is another man's treasure. so KISS (keep it simple, stupid) should prevail.

    They are considered distracting and unprofessional looking. Apparently they cause problems with some members who log on from work.

    Animated avitars are no more bandwith hungry than a regular image of the same size.

    I agree that they're distracting though

    Shame. Since becoming subscribed I felt that I should follow Comrade Steve f's example and had an Avatar made of a chocolate starfish being entered-tained.
