Contemplating the retrofit of twin Pertronix units in one dist. In researching, I see pertronixs does offer kits to do the same in the marrelli dist. Has anyone done this, and if so which "dual " kit will fit our dist, Marelli S 138 C. Thanks...........

    Godspeed!

Can't help you there, but is this so you can eliminate that elec. ignition box mounted on the underside of the hood? Just curious...

The Pertronix catalog does have a direct kit listing for S138:

    http://www.pertronix.com/catalogs/pdf/ptx/2010/Pertronix2010.pdf (page 7)

Not clear to me if you'd need to order 1 or 2 kits. I think you'd be on your own for mounting two Pertronix pick-ups in one distributor (30 electrical distributor degrees apart = 30 or 90 or 150 physical degrees apart), but since you've got holes for two point sets in each distributor, I don't think it would be that difficult to modify the kit's brackets or make your own.

Can you confirm that you have two distributors and each distributor has a 6-lobe cam and two point sets?

I apoligize fo rnot being clearer. This is for the 400A, carb model. two dists, one set of points in each, six lobe cam

Of course the benifit will be to have only one advance mecahnisim providing required advance to both dists via twin coils. Thanks

    Godspeed!

You presently might only have one set of points mounted in each distributor, but your 400A OM indicates that you should have two (so the extra mounting holes should still be there).

The only Pertronix kit that might work is that one they have listed for "S138", and both 365GT4 2+2 and 365GTC/4 use the S138B distributor which also have a 6-lobe cam. Might be that the 6-lobe cam in your S138C distributors is different than the 6-lobe cam in the S138B distributor, but that's the $64 question IMO -- i.e., will the Pretronix 6-trigger wheel of their S138 kit fit your S138C? Modifying (or making your own) mounting brackets for the pickup heads shouldn't be difficult.
