While participating in the Targa WA Rally in Western Australia.
i'm going to do targa new zealand in october . you think my wife is happy after hearing this , no ****ing way
big difference between the engineering that's gone into your Porsche Scud, and the kit car that Brocky was killed in. i believe that the Qld company has only made 6 or 8 cars total. hell of a learning curve.
Very sad news, he wasnt perhaps driving a Hi Tech Automotive Daytona Coupe? If I recall correctly he was instrumental in the developement of that car...
Different Peter Brock (an American) designed the Cobra Daytona coupe, and is building the current replicas. Odd coincidence, though.
The "other" Pete Brock bio... I wonder what John Morton's doing these days... http://www.datsunhistory.com/BRE.html
The Daytona that he was driving was the brainchild of Richard Bendall (founder of Motec), designed (mostly) by Ross Houlder and built (entirely) by Mike Borland (Spectrum FFord fame) at Braeside, Victoria.
Hi Pat some smart guys in that lot then you throw in Broadbent on set up,Macrow and Peter Brock and it must have been one quick car,it was sure fast on the track at State meetings. Were they running the Holinger sequntial gearbox.
Yes, it is funny, the same name. When I learned Peter Brock would be speaking in Mooresville NC, I googled him, learned he was an Australian Champion. Only to find out a few days latter that it was the Daytona Cobra Designer-our Peter Brock of the US. So when he died, I knew exactly who he was and his importance to motorsports. A very sad loss indeed. On the same note, two drivers have been killed in NASA this year, I was told both had the same number car.
