Announced today - Le Mans line-up - three cars; Sebring - one car

Peugeot have confirmed their driver line-up for this year's Le Mans 24 Hours, with eight former Grand Prix drivers given the task of claiming victory for the French car manufacturer.

Having taken pole position and finished second last year, Peugeot have made no secret of the fact that they want the 908 HDi FAP to triumph in the French classic that takes place in June.

As well as making developments with the car, the team have signed a host of experienced drivers to lead their challenge.

Alongside the highly experienced Nicolas Minassian, will be former F1 racing drivers Marc Gene, Christian Klien, Pedro Lamy, Franck Montagny, Stephane Sarrazin, Jacques Villeneuve, Alexander Wurz and Ricardo Zonta. Anthony Beltoise will be test and reserve driver.

Peugeot Sport Director Michael Barge said: "Like last year, we wanted our 2008 line-up to be strong, very human, sporting and bonded.

"During the recruitment process, which was led by Serge Saulnier, we paid attention to all these factors, as well as the respective records and experience of the drivers in cars which are in fact very close to the 908 HDi FAP in the way they need to be set up and driven.

"Between them, our ten drivers have 393 Formula One Grand Prix starts under their belts, as well as 32 previous participations in the Le Mans 24 Hours."

Peugeot have not yet decided on how the drivers will be teamed up, with a decision on that front not expected until May.

Very cool. I hope they take the fight to Audi.

I saw their car two years ago at the Paris autoshow. Looked impressive then already.

    Allez, les Bleus!

They shot themselves in the foot by not hiring Chaparralman.
