That was a LOT of fun. Not that it's a great time, but I hit 7:35 in that challenge (I did wipe out on one corner, so there was room for improvement) As far as the game is concerned, I concur with several previous comments: * The interface does take getting used to. It's almost too arcade-ish versus earlier versions. * The music is annoying. I wish it were more like PGR 1 where you could upload your own tracks, or they had stations with DJ's & music from the specific countries you raced in * No re-tries in career mode...WHY NOT? * Garages suck...no longer a collection of the cars you buy, and you can't choose them for races. Also, no possibility of an all-Ferrari stable * Same tracks in the carry-over cities. I was hoping for new routes * No choice of difficulties on a by-race basis. You pick 'Normal' or 'Hardcore' at the beginning of career mode. Now, for the positives: * Track/city renderings are gorgeous. * Weather effects rock! * Graphics still look great (even if similar to PGR 3). I like them better than Forza 2 or Gran Turismo HD * Control is pretty good. Not Forza2 good, but far better than DiRT, NFS (any iteration), PGR 1 & 2, etc To me, it would be a GREAT game if it had the customization of PGR (music, liscence plates, free roaming in cities), the interface of PGR 3 and the graphics/cars in PGR 4. I guess this means PGR 2 was the weakling of the bunch (for me, at least)
Yeah.. most of those previous comments were mine. I agree that they could have combined a lot of the things from the previous games. PGR3 definitely gave us nice things like the dazzling graphics, the drool-worthy garages, Gotham TV. All it was missing were the extra tracks and cars that we had in PGR2. So PGR2 wasn't really a weakling... it had the Supra & Carrera GT... at least the Supra made it in PGR4. How about tracks like Washington DC? I really want this PGR2 track coupled with the "make your own track" feature of PGR3. So the garages don't seem very functional or maybe just difficult to use.... and what happened to Gotham TV... I found the menu option to see my saved replays, but couldn't find Gotham TV... maybe I am blind, or maybe I was disconnected from Xbox Live, so the option wasn't available... I can hardly wait till I get my new wheel stand, so that I can hook up my MS wheel for PGR4.. ~shahedc .
Yep, talking about the Microsoft Wheel... I spent hours messing with it... I thought it might be the game (Forza 2) so I put PGR3 in, same deal... maybe I'm just not good enough to use it... but I do ok with the regular controller - it's not like I'm yanking the wheel from lock-to-lock or anything...
Enhanced version? Uh, oh. Tell me more. I tried my regular PGR3 version after I bought the wheel and there is no support whatsoever. Now you got me going.
I already had PGR3... didn't try the disc that came with it... apparently there is a difference...? Maybe there is hope yet... I didn't even hook it up to PGR4.
What would be REALLY nice as an alternative is if Microsoft actually made the first two games backwards compatible. From what I understand, they don't care and are finished with bringing older games onto the 360.
Yes, it's a free game disc that comes with the MS wheel. It contains PGR3 with enhancements to support the MS wheel in all its Force Feedback glory. It definitely makes a difference, and is fun to drive the in-game cars with the MS wheel. It also gave me a 2nd copy of the game, so that I can play on my home network over 2 consoles. ~shahedc .
+100000!!! That was the most fun you can have with your close on and not actually driving the real car.... BTw the physics have gotten a lot better from what i remember back in pgr3. EDIT: also about online play. For some reason i haven't been able to get into a ranked match but if you scroll over you'll find a join cusotm game option. Just pick that and you can search for people hosting games. so far, i don't think they are very many people on yet. But i'm waiting for match play....
+1 PGR1 and PGR2 weren't originally compatible, but were both added. The full list is at: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm ~shahedc .
Cool! Last I heard they weren't going to do it. This is AWESOME! (I loved the original PGR, even though graphics-wise and control wise it doesn't hold a match to PGR 4)

Fun game. Controls are not as tight as Forza 2, and overall PGR4 feels more "arcadey". However, I'm sure it was the intent of the developer to create a more easily accessible game than Forza 2. The sensation of speed is incredible, and although it takes away from the realism, I don't mind at all. Environments are gorgeous. My favorites are the Macau tracks. The F40 looks a bit strange to me. Is the front bumper correct?
If its got lambo's in it you can count me in. My gamer tag VF-1Skullangel and my brothers play more than I do
