I wouldn't think taht anything could mend the words that jackson wrote about Kobe. Our only hope is that the Lakers trade Kobe as far away from LA as they can. He is a terrible team player and does not do anything to lift the talent on the team.

Jackson cannot be that stupid of need the money that badly...

I think he's gunning for ownership of the team at some point. That's what would motivate him at this time. The team is a long way from getting back on track. Let's see what Phil has up his sleeve.

Not if the Lakers can somehow swing a deal for a big man. Anyone know when is Yao's contract ends with the Rockets?

He's very well liked in the league. I don't know which big man's contract is up next year, but I'd bet that he's got a plan to replace Shaq (if he is replaceable) with another big guy. Phil is known for being able to get the most out of his talent. However, they'll have to deal with the Warriors next year, and from the end of the season, it looks like Oakland is going to be a contender.

How are they going to get some "winning" talent with all the salary caps? Phil has already set the stage by saying it will take some time to rebuild and it won't happen overnight. He may be able to pull a few tricks but it sounds like he's pretty much just going to have to harness the talent that's currently in place.
