the Massa club are having a P.I. track on 13th Jan 2006 (unlucky for some). This is a practice day with no timing and limited to about 23-26 cars. This is a great day because you get lots of laps. Last time I did this day , I did about 60 laps in the LM. (didn't really help me become any faster, but it was fun). It's a great day for preparing for the historics at P.I. a month later. I would recommend this day to anyone who loves a day with lots of laps of one of the world's great tracks. You have to get in quick as it's limited to only a handful of cars. Any question. I've booked for both F40's, so 2 places have already gone.
Damn, my membership expired last month (and I never got a renewal letter!). Time to make a few calls... Is Kai still the president? I havent had any updates from them since Sep last yeear.
I'm guessing it'll be a 75db noise day, which is a no go for most supercars, need to pay the upgrade for 95 limit plus.... friday the 13th...... hmmmm I'll beg to differ about the laps availability too, I've been on Massa days where it's been dreadful. PLUS, what about passengers/instructors..... allowed or not...
Last time I did this, noise wasn't a problem and you can have passengers ......whatever. I admit......friday the 13th............(oh hell)
Don't worry about it. The cars are Italian, and for Italians, 13 is a lucky number. Avoid trackdays that fall on the 17th if you drive Italian cars.
Maserati has a couple of proper Ferrari club style passenger sessions. The day is a special low entrant number day designed to give plenty of track time. It is a 75db day, but so are all the FCA days. I was wondering whether Gil would have problems with noise with the LM.
the LM is 95db, but I just run it anyway. Look out for the guy in the paddock, with the funny looking gun in his hand. Slip him a $50, and everything is taken care of.
With a bit of luck I'll see you there Gil. Got my car back on Thursday, but the power steering fried itself on the drive home, hopefully it just needs to be bled and refilled.
Yes, we could hardly have you doing any timed laps, otherwise everyone would see how slow you really are!!
Just pointing out the bleeding obvious in case there was any confusion. Who else from the Ferrari club is going?
