    Hallo you all.
Nice to be here together with you. I'm from Italy so sorry for my bad english!

I would like to know if there is a way to copy the contact list and numbers from my iphone x to the car HDD.
I tried in many ways but I cannot find any transfer option.

I transfer from USB memory stick to HDD songs (using the cable in glove box) but noway to do it with phone contact list.
I also do not find any instruction in manual...
    Can someone help me?
    Tnx!

    Sandro

    Ciao Sandro!

Have you tried via bluetooth as well? Or just with the charger cable?

I seem to remember that once upon a time there was an official Ferrari infotainment manual somewhere. I’m not at home right now but I’ll try to look it up for you.

    Cari saluti!

    Nuno.

Yes I tried but I cannot find anything in the menu that allows that.
Also in the owner manual it’s not indicated...
Actually my contact list is fully empty and the HDD has 9GB free so I suppose it is not a space issue...
    Do you have another idea?
    Many thanks!

Three things I never use while driving the 458 are the radio, navigation and bluetooth to listen to music or pick a call up.

Nevertheless, I will give it a go and tell you if I managed to pair it. I also have an iPhone X. One thing we may be forgetting: the 458 infotainment system was launched in 2009. My guess is some recent cell phones may not be supported at all.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

    Hi!
The phone makes pairing and perfectly works also with siri assistant.
I look inside the menu, but I cannot find something like "import your contact list" or similar as it is for the music as example.
When I bought the car in the phone contact list there were a lot of names and numbers from last owner.
I deleted them but now it is empty....

There is no such function like "Import Contacts". But why would you want to do that? You can use all your phone contacts with all integrated functions, even Voice Recognition works.

Sandro: The easiest way for contacts to display is via bluetooth connection. After you connect your iphone to the car, click on the the name of your connection (eg. for me its Ferrari, see screenshot). Then turn sync contacts to green (see screenshot below) and the contacts you want to sync (favorites, recents, or all contacts). You can also google ways to export your contacts, save it to a flashdrive, and then upload it to the hard drive. I have not done that so I don't know how well or if it works. The first method is what I use. Good Luck!

im not certain but whenever ive seen contacts transfer - its only when the phone is connected. i dont think it means its actually writing them on the hard drive, if that makes sense...

I think the same, but when I receive a call on the car screen appears the number... so it is strange that the car doesn't associate the number to a name... to do this probably the contact list should be transferred to the car (as it was from previous owner).
I delete yesterday the pairing, and rebuild it again taking care of the checks in the association menu.
Nothing changes... alway only the number appears.
It is also strange that in VR option there is "call name", how can i call a name if it's not in the car's memory? (i mean without using siri)

I have another question probably easyer: "When I switch the car on gear is in P position. How can I place it in P position when I stop? I found only N with double paddle press, but P? Thanks!

Ok, it looks like, that your phone does not allow the car to access the contacts list. What phone do you have? For iPhones there is a picture in a post above.

Regarding your other question: With the engine running, you have to use the parking brake. "P" is only possible with the engine stopped.

OK thanks, I suppose that P was an option applicable even when engine ON.
    Many thanks.

Regarding the other question i have Iphone XS, and the settings are the same as in the picture above...
It's strange... can someone make a test deleting the contact list on the car memory and disconnecting the pairing and try again?
When I open tha contact list on the car it is empty.

    Thanks a lot!!

I paired my Phone (Android, Samsung) several times, cause there was a Bluetooth bug in the last Android version, which lead to lost connections. So I deleted the pairing in the car and repaired. Everytime I had full access incl. contacts. So it looks like a specific problem to your car or - more probable - your iPhone XS.

    Sandro,

Maybe getting in touch with your Ferrari dealer when you have the time wouldn’t be a bad idea.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Maybe a last chance can be deleting all data from the internal hard disk, but you will loose everything including your music. You can reach that function, if you hold the middle button of the entertainment system for more than two seconds.

I would guess the previous owner added contact entries directly to the hard drive instead of through the phone, which is why you saw them there. I've accidentally done this from the car menu when adding new entries while in the car.

Personally, I do my utmost never to talk on the phone while driving my 458. It’s me time!

My girlfriend actually managed to tame the infotainment system, listen to some music off her iPhone and iPod, but for the life of me I have zero interest in it if I’m honest. But I’ve gladly tried to help a fellow 458 owner.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.
