April 1963 Photo chronology of Norm Anderson, owner of Norm Anderson VW, San Jose, California picking up his brand-new red 356 from the Porsche factory as a part of the Fifth PCA Treffen. Scrap book photos include his tour the Reutter factory with Porsche 356’s being made. Would be nice to reunite this material with the owner of this car if it is still a survivor – chassis # unknown…more scans to follow…

1st photo caption – “Porsche plant works (mostly apprentices)”
    2nd & 3rd photo caption(s) - "Superb Beauty - April 22"

Very cool! We still have an "Anderson Honda" dealer just up the road in Mountain View. I have no idea if anyone in the family is still associated with the dealership, or just the name, but you might start there if trying to track down the former owner (or his next of kin). Additionally, there is a place in Emeryville (near Berkeley) called Fantasy Junction. They always seem to have multiple 356s in inventory - perhaps they know of the car in question, if it has passed through their hands at some point over the years.

    Best of luck!

Very cool indeed. Have you posted this over on the 356 Registry forum?

Thanks - the dealership was also Anderson Porsche + Audi and then Anderson Behel Porsche Audi in the early 1980s.

Just found this thread. My parents were on this 1963 Treffen with Norm Anderson. In the second picture shown, the couple in the background to the left of Norm is my parents! I now have the 1963 356 Cabriolet that they picked up at the factory and then drove around Europe for a month. In those days, if over 30 days old it was not hit with import tariff as a new car and the savings paid for the trip! And I just found and bought the red PCA topper that reads 5th PCA Treffen-1963.
In the third picture our family 356 Cabriolet can be seen, the car with the black Cab top. I still have the PCA banner that was put on each car. According to the PCA history, there were 40 cars picked up at the factory for this Treffen.
If anyone knows of other cars and owners from this 1963 Treffen I would love to get in contact. Email [email protected] Thanks

Very cool. I enlarged the photo but unfortunately the image quality is not very good. Looks like your dad is holding something?
