Yes…insulated. I 100% feel like it was a factory defect. No rock chip, and the crack was perfectly geometrical across the entire expanse of the windshield, Insurance covered the repair, so I am only out my time.
Well rats! I hope the replacement is not defective! Beautiful car, BTW. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Could someone share how this technology behaves in warm countries? Does it act like a radiator? I believe this kind of glass thing has been introduced previously but it's the element that may jeopardize enjoyment and engagement should it begin to radiate heat to your head. The sensible decision is to opt out of it, but still would like to know if my fear is founded or not. Anyone sharing his experience?
I bought the 12 Clindri without the glass roof. Today, I saw the car at the dealer and confirmed it has enough space (I’m 180 cm tall). My dealer keeps advising me to order the glass roof, but it costs $7,500. Besides, I find it hotter and consider it a waste of money. He always say, everybody want the glass roof later. What are your thoughts? Does everyone order the glass roof, or is it more like 50/50?
I optioned the glass roof. I think it’s a unique design aspect that somewhat sets it apart from its predecessors. I also hope it creates a little more headroom.
Certainly looks awesome, but still no-one has answered to this day how it behaves when under hot weather, will it act like a radiator?
The glass roof is a big reason I opted for the coupe over the spider. It fits into the overall design.
I have a porsche Taycan with a full glass roof and I live in a pretty hot country. It's absolutely fine. A tad warmer but nothing really noticeable. I assume this will be the same
If one opt for the glass roof just take it as glass only. If you’re thinking it will lighten and darken where it makes a difference in the cabin then save the money. For us we opted for this option in our Puro just to be disappointed. Huge piece of glass first it adds significant weight but most disappointing feature was the light and dark option is so subtle that we can hardly make out the difference. A huge waste of option for us. Could have done regular or carbon roof instead. Or like I mentioned above if you want it for a glass top and don’t mind spending on the option then it’s fine.
Shmee’s video review said the glass line really starts behind one’s head. Thus, you don’t experience any true view from it unless you look completely up. I am saving the money and getting the standard roof.
I watched that too and I was a little bummed but sticking with it as it will hopefully brighten up the cabin and make it feel more open.
I have it on my Puro and it really isn't as dramatic as I hoped. I'll save the $10K+ for that option on the 12 Cilindri and apply it to something else!
Not what I was hoping to hear but appreciate the comments. I have a soon to lock Puro (wife’s car and she loves natural light). In hindsight keep or delete on the that one
The glass roof is definitely for the rear seat passengers in my Puro. I do not notice it at all when driving. A lot of loot expended for others' benefit
Meanwhile, the glass roof on the new Aston Martin Vanquish essentially covers the entire expanse of the roof.
A lot of valid comments on both sides, but even though one is in a warm climate it's nice to have the cabin light coming from all directions. The plus to the coupe is the more expansive interior behind the seats, so having the glass roof adds to that feeling. Sat in the Spider at the dealership last week and it's comfortable but is meant for top-down driving as top-up, you're more observant of the rear bulkhead.
