Great picture! The 5000 was ahead of its time (styling, specs), Maserati has indeed a special pedigree... Maserati Factory - Photo - Road & Track
Thank you for posting the photo and link, however the journalist who wrote the text made it misleading. The car seen at front is not a 5000Gt but an A6G/54 2000 Allemano coupe speciale seen in 2012 at Villa d'Este and owned by a Dutch collector. Best regards, Marc
Mark, Is the factory hiring you in any capacity for the celebration? As evidence by this article they clearly should.
Thanks Bob I have a couple of ideas but I have not had anything but a chat with Arpita Pandya in charge of the event at the Swiss Intl meeting in Montreux in September. There is plenty of time and I will certainly offer my help. I hope the main 100th Anniversary event in Modena can be the unforgettable one we hope for. Happy new year to you! Marc
Cool picture. It wasn't too long ago that the real sports cars were built by hand including my 993, the last hand built Porsche. I wonder which Maserati model is either hand built or hand assembled.
Here's a picture of what the a6G allemano looks like today. It was found in the US and restored by Candini/Autosport in Modena. In the photo is was probably back for some work as it was changing owners at the time. Bart
Thank you Marc for the correction, great eyes! Thanks Bart for the picture. Interesting color combination...
