    I finally made it to a C&O at their new Perimeter Mall venue for the first time this year. This was undoubtedly the biggest car event that I've ever seen in the ATL, covering the entire area shown in yellow on the map below. My rough estimate is 800 cars, but does anyone really know for sure?

    The prime area was in the upper-right corner, outside of the mall ring road, west of Ashford Dunwoody and south of Perimeter Center West. The car clubs were inside the ring road, directly across and heading west toward Seasons 52. The rest of the northside lot was "overflow", which had mostly spectator cars, but there were even some show cars in the far western reaches when I walked through.

    The vendors were also inside the preferred area; RBM of Atlanta had a large Mercedes display, some of which I'll show in a subsequent post. There were also a couple of food trucks, but I didn't fancy what they were serving, and since I couldn't find any doughnuts ("Pink Ladies", where were you?) I went hungry. (Next time, I'll go across to McDonalds!)

    The first posting is of the Italians, and my own Ferrari is visible in the first photo. Even when this photo was taken right after 7:30, there was already a massive number of cars. This set could be called the "first wave"; another large group of Italian exotics arrived after 9:30, by which time many early arrivals had already left; after 10 we probably had more Ferraris and Lamborghinis present than we had an hour earlier! (I'll post the "second wave" in a subsequent post.)

    Remember what I said about show cars being mixed in with spectator cars near the far western end of the parking area? The green Gallardo in the last photo was one of those! This car was probably 1/4 mile from its brethren in the preferred lot.

    The BMW with the tape is a Japanese car culture thing that has come over here. Kind of like stanced cars

    Gee, I didn't finish what I had started. Here are some later American cars of interest. Even a Vega, and it's not a Cosworth car! The Grand Am in the last photo was simply gorgeous.

    And to finish off, some odds & ends, or maybe this should be called "odds, rods & mods", even including a fire truck and a Panoz roadster that really should have been in the last post. Finishing off with a Beetle pickup makes a perfect exclamation point.

    Incidentally, another "car guy" at work today said that he had heard that the next C&O had been moved forward to this weekend, on June 28, in deference to the holiday weekend coming up. I tried to confirm that on the C&O website, but they still had the June 7 date up at the time.

    Well, it apparently ain't so! I checked the C&O website this evening, and they have updated the date of the next gathering to......July 5, which would be as scheduled. So if anyone shows up this Sunday, they may be quite lonely.

    I opted out this month, in part because of the iffy weather, and in part because I had driven to Chattanooga the evening before to ride the Tennessee Valley Railroad's dinner train (which I recommend, by the way).

    This fellow has posted quite a few. What amazes me is how many of these cars were not at the June gathering!
