I'm trying to come up with an image to be used as a "skin" on my PSP. I found a site that let's you download a template in .jpg form but I suck at creating/designing things from scratch. This is the best I could come up with so far and it stinks. I'm not too shabby at Photoshop but I'm no expert when it comes to patterns or fills. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

    Here is the file:

    Thanks!

Made this earlier today in Adobe ImageReady...

Is this kind of what you're looking to do?

If so, use the "clone" tool (see pic below) to transfer a pic onto the template.

First, you'll have to use the "magic wand" to select the white parts on the template, then go to Select>Inverse. This'll reverse the selected parts and just leave you with the template outline to draw on.

Open up another picture that you want to use and select the clone tool. You select an area to start cloning by holding down Alt and clicking on that second picture.

Now you can just use the clone tool on your original pic, and it'll 'paint' the second picture onto the first (your template).

Same here. I'm decent at taking originals and hacking them and putting them together with something else. Not AT ALL good at design and creativity!

I use that tool sometimes, but I was thinking it would look okay as long as I had a decent background fill. I was thinking "checkered flag" instead of the bright red, but I'm not too creative. Thanks.
