Good client of ours just purchased this pristine 2013 Brabus decked out CLS63 in for our latest product. Made by Prestige Film Technologies, this is the latest window film brought in for our customers. This product's performance improves as solar heat intensifies and has a manufacturer rating of 98.5% of IR rejection. This is significant considering that even ceramic films come in at 80%. Also another added feature of this product is that it's shade darkens as a result of the heat rejecting properties changing based on solar intensity.

With everything we do, we like to present to our customers that the products we carry are of the highest quality. Prestige Film Technologies really knocked this one out of the park. We have been beta testing this product for them close to 2.5 years and their PhotoSync IR Nano Tint is truly impressive in its performance. More importantly, we put it onto our spectrometer and no metals registered through it. This means, you will not get any signal interruptions like all metallic films and some ceramic based tint.

    BEFORE WE APPLIED PHOTOSYNC:

    Outdoor Temperature: 75 degrees
    Interior Color - Black
**Keep this in mind, the darker the color of the interior, the higher the heat absorption rate
    Time of test: 3:25 PM

In only 1 Minute 14 Seconds, the seat gets to a sizzling 115.8 degrees

At just a bit over 10 minutes, this same seat popped to a skin burning 131.3 degrees (an additional 8.4 degrees 5 minutes later!)

Fast forward one day after installation of PhotoSync45, we ran another test at the same time the day after to replicate the conditions. However, the next day's outdoor temperature was at 84 degrees. Being 9 degrees hotter than the day before, we are definitely putting this product to test. Let's see how it performs on a hotter day.

    Outdoor Temperature: 84 degrees
    Time of Test: 3:20pm
    Product Installed: PhotoSync45 (45% VLT)

At 1 Minute 45 Seconds, the seat registers in a fairly cool 88.3 degrees (VS. without PhotoSync, at 1 Minute 15 Seconds, the temperature was 115.8 degrees!)

At the 4 Minute marker, we see that temperature rises to 90.3 degrees (Compared to without PhotoSync test at 5 Minutes to a blistering 122.9 degrees)

And finally in 10 Minutes time, the surface temperature increased to 94.6 degrees (rising only 6 degrees despite being 9 degrees hotter outside). This is a noticeably significant difference in heat rejection for PhotoSync. (Without PhotoSync surface temperature at 10 Minutes 42 Seconds came in at 131.3 degrees!)

For those interested in seeing more tests on other vehicles, just google "Spectra PhotoSync". This product is truly unique in that its performance improves on hotter days. It will reject 98.5% of infrared rays (IR) compared to most conventional window tints on the market only range from 20%-30% of IR rejection.

Spectra PhotoSync was just brought into the USA (not sure about Canada) from Japan. This product has been used extensively there since 2008.

Instead of comparing to no tint.....how does this product perform against other existing products such as LLumar AB80, 3M Crystalline 70? etc and what is the cost difference/savings?. I already have tints installed on my vehicles..and moving to something else without some kind of substantial gain and cost effectiveness would be a waste of $$...just my 2c

One of the most commonly asked question is how well does Spectra PhotoSync compare with other window tint products. So we decided to actually put Spectra PhotoSync to test against a 5% metallic limo tint. Now keep in mind, the shades we used for comparison is PhotoSync65, 55, and 45, so much lighter compared to limo tint at 5%. There is also one major difference - the limo tint has metals in it so it can produce some decent heat rejection that would be comparable to a lighter ceramic based tint:

Another test we conducted recently. With Prestige Film Technologies' Spectra PhotoSync Nano Window Film. We decided to document this test to show how well this product performs compared to a leading 30% ceramic tint. The previous test was done compared to a ceramic 40%. Test specs:

Spectra PhotoSync 65% (yes, we are using a lighter film to compare with a darker 30% ceramic tint)
    *product to the left

    VS.

30% Ceramic (one of the more popular ceramic tint products on the market....sorry, we are not going to name the manufacturer of this product, but can say it is likely the most well-known on the market)
    *product to the right

    Conditions:

    Outdoor Temperature: 75 degrees

    Test Time: 2pm

Measurement Equipment: BTU Meter aimed directly at the window films to obtain simultaneous readings for accuracy

Test Subject: Raging Gray Bull named the Aventador

If we are speaking of technicality, no, it is "not legal" for the front windshield. However, the benefits from us as experienced installers and from our clients, the benefits of the following far outweigh the legality of it....so far, with 65 or 75 on the windshield, we have not had any customers come back with any legal issues. This is because if it is difficult to discern, then it is an assumption on law enforcement that there is nothing there.

    Benefits:

    1. blocks out UVA and UVB at 99.5%
    2. blocks out up to 98.5% of infrared on the 65% and under shades (on the 75% shade up to 88% of infrared block).
***most standard window tint products only reject 20%-30%. Ceramic tint typically blocks out 50%-75% of infrared
    3. keeps leather and carbon from premature fading from excellent heat and UV rejection.
