The R8 is an incredible looking machine. Are you sure it's the first one in VA though? I saw one on 193 around Langley High School back in July and I know of a couple other people who say they have seen one around the area over the last few months. I believe someone on here saw one on 123 as well about the same time I saw the one I did. This one here at the dealer looks white; the one I saw was silver. Maybe these were journalist test cars or something out over the summer, I don't know.

Either way, it's an awesome car.

Can't take the white with that silver thing on it. Kills the lines and gives it an "unfinished" look, you know?

I'd like it if it was all one color. What's the deal with that panel?

If it was flat black with tail-fins and a Batman logo would you be interested?

I think they're trying to hide that extended rear. The front of the car is extremely short, and with it being all one color the car probably looks a little odd. I think it looks odd with that different color side panel.

Yea, I saw one in Vienna back in July and have heard from friends sightings throughout the area. Either way-- cant way to see more out on the road. I liked the silver better.

    I like the R8

Just have no use for one. I would prefer the Gallardo, which drop like stones in depreciation, so they would be roughly the same price (as pointed out by wetpet).

See why no direct side pics? It must looks odd since the darker panel doesn't really distract you from the length of the rear.

The white one was 1st we got. Have 7 more ordered. Don't know which colors. Looks good in person.

Penske Jr. bought one of the Carrera GTs we had and it was displayed in showroom same as the R8 is now so he may have gotten this one too.

yah, theres a handful of them in the DC area. I can't believe people are paying a premium for them. It's an interesting looking car, but it's a 120k audi. Audi is doing a terrific job controlling the distribution. I bet in a year you can get one for less than 100k.

Id have to agree with you on that. Even in terms of performance, the professionals only compare it to the 70k mark Porsche , not even the 911 997 Turbo. Also the MSRP is only 75K.

There are at least 4 more sitting outside now. A light blue, a black, a silver and another white one. The silver has the same color mid-ship panel as the rest of the body, not blacked-out like the photo above.

Talk about ordering at the wrong time of the year. Someone is going to get a great deal. With Fall almost here, I doubt anyone wants to spend a fortune for an exotic when Winter is here.

Just dropped by there on the way home. They have about 5 of them shipped in by Audi for a special event, they are factory cars. Took a look at them...would rather have a 355 or 360...apparently they Sold one so far...others on order...I don't think they will look that different on the street.

    The Bobert

PS...got the usual cool reception from them at the dealer...drove in a Z06...found the same lack of interest when I have driven the Ferrari...I guess they have more business than they need!
