    Very nice!

I saw one yesterday in white and I'm convinced that its one of my favorite luxury sedans on the road.

GD- Looks great. Your photos are actually better than all the press photos I have seen. Goes like a scalded cat, can seat four six footers. Only four door that can claim to be in the same ball park is the new Aston, and it costs twice as much and will not fit four tall guys. Maserati QP is prettier, but not as dynamically capable, and way harder to find service unless you live near an ocean. No others need apply, to paraphrase an old epithet.

Saw the Rapide last Friday, gorgeous and beautifully finished car but back seat is a joke (I could not even squezze myself in and I'm just 6'4") and dynamically, Panamera TT runs circles around it .

That is a fast car no doubt. I can even admit that the styling is starting to grow on me. But those wheels are just awful! You would think at that price Porsche would offer a proper set of wheels, those look like Chinese Ebay specials.

    Those are not factory wheels.

I nominate the AMG S63/S65, or the AM Rapide, or the QP as a better looking sedan........

+1, agreed. I still don't like it. I've seen a few, haven't driven one, doubt I'll ever get a chance, but I just don't like it. Interior seems cluttered with all those buttons and it doesn't fit the Porsche name.

Either way, congrats on the new ride. Enjoy it :)

Try to get a turbo for a test drive.
I'm sure you'll look at it more positively afterwards, the sheer performance and dynamics of that car do that to people.
It even starts to look better....

    Your car looks good. Congrats.

I am a giant Porsche guy. But when its gotta be a four door - The Mercedes Benz S class standard or AMG is for me. S63 or S65 - heck even the S600 without AMG delivers, and that's how I roll.

To each his own. I am pondering trading my QP for a Panamera. I do think the QP is overall better looking. The Panamera blows it away on the interior and technology.

When I said who can beat it, I had already conceded the styling may not be the best. I meant handling and performance for a 4 door. AMG S63/S65, or the AM Rapide, or the QP don't get close in those areas. For example, I had a Maserati GranTurmiso, I think one of the most beautiful cars of late. When it came to performance it just wasn't there. Had to sell it because it was so Slow. I'm willing to give a little in the looks department to have a car than can run with some of the faster 2 door sport cars.

so what you're saying is, there is no substitute? :)

to the OP, enjoy the car, who cares what others think.

I must admit the Panamera, in black, has grown on me. The other colors don't make it, IMO.

Can't say I dog those wheels though....

Either way, enjoy the hell out of it! :):)

I have owned 39 Porsche's, and I have driven the car twice in fact. I think it is a is a nice car to drive, (though it needs a heads up display, and less buttons), but it is in my eyes it just is not very appealing, but to each his own, I hope you enjoy it.

I've seen a few of these on the road and... well... I like it. It goes like a stabbed rat (TG quote), it's cheaper than most of it's rivals, very well made because it's a Porsche, CAN seat 4 6ft people unlike the Rapide which is cramped for people over 5ft 10", and it's 4WD.

Very nice car, thanks for the pics and who makes those wheels?

Yeah. I would get one if I weren't so upside down in my QP. It really is a stellar machine.

Congrats! Beautiful car. I drove a Turbo a few months ago and all I gotta say is "Porsche there is no substitute" I couldn't believe how much like a sports car, a big sports car it drove like. You quickly forget that you have all that extra room behind the drivers seat. This is Porsche's next big hit IMHO. :)

VW management originally intended to can the car after the first model run, but latest indications are they are now enthralled with it and it will stay in the line-up. Good news for all and perhaps a 2 door coupe will be forthcoming. Son of 928, with a couple of decades of improvements incorporated. Imagine how quick the thing would be 300-500 lbs lighter than the four door.

Wheels are made by Vellano, http://www.vellanowheels.com/
They are 3 piece forged with spokes painted to match car color.
