I've looked at the underbody on my 355 and laughed out loud. What possible contribution could the tunnels have on the car?

Read somewhere that it's supposed to smoothen airflow underneath the car at high speeds thus reducing lift or something like that. 355's the first to have it methinks.

more importantly, the tunnels are suppose to decrease air pressure as the air exits the rear. this 1. sucks the car to the ground (downforce) 2. helps to equalize the [low] pressure that comes over the top of the car, helps to reduce drag by lowering the pressure ratio at the back of the car 3. helps to *blow* air into the low pressure area in the rear of the car to reduce (pressure) drag

    its almost complicated....almost.

thats the idea basically, as to the effectiveness of the tunnels on the 355, that is debatable. but look at a CS, 430, or enzo for the exemplification of the principle
