Who's it gonna be?
Lewis Hamilton by less than 10 points over Jensen Button by less than 10 points over Micheal Schumacher.
Schumacher, followed by Hamilton and Button (they'll take points off each other, winning the WCC but letting Schumi sneak through for the WDC)
It is hard to say - most cars have not even been revealed yet, and there has not been a single test. That being said, I think Michael Schumacher will win it, but I would be even happier if Felipe Massa could make an amazing comeback and get the title this year.
Vettel had a great year in 2009, and promises to do the same this year. I think he has a very real shot at the title. Plus, when you look at the personalities in the sport, he is just one of those genuinely likeable guys that you really hope does well, Scuderia first, but if not them, I would root for young Sebastien.
As much as I didn't want to, I said Hamilton. If the McLaren is fast, I don't think there will be any stopping him; he's just too fast. For some reason, I just don't see MS winning it. I would love to see him do it, but I believe it's a long shot given his time off. As for Ferrari, unless the car is just blazingly fast, I think Massa and Alonso are going to take too many points off each other. However, who I want to win and who I think is going to win are completely different thing. In this order, I will be pulling for Massa, MS, Vettel, and then Fernando. Mark
I say MS will be 2010 WDC. Why? simply going by what he has on his side. 2009 champion team, Ross brawn, Mercedes, and MS. This seems like very strong combo.
MS may be driving for the enemy now, but I agree with this assessment. MS has "been there, done that" and he is stepping into the reigning chassis with the "ChessMaster" calling the shots and now they have the might of Mercedes behind them. They've got the strongest car, the strongest driver, and the might and experience of a huge manufacturer behind them. That is going to be a HARD opponent for Ferrari to overcome... On a brighter side for the tifosi...now that Mercedes have their own team I don't see McLaren as being as strongly supported as in the past. McLaren has had their reputation tarnished severely and now Mercedes have their own team where they can call the shots. I see McLaren sliding down the slope in the next few seasons unless they can repair their relationship with Mercedes or find another strong engine supplier. Having said all that, at least the tifosi will not have to sit through another dismal year with a hopeless chassis like the F60.
Too early to call, but my money is on a 3 way battle between MS, Alonso, and Hamilton, with Alonso winning it.
I see you didn't include RB...was that to spin me up? KIDDING. I came close to picking Alonso because I think when he is motivated he is the best driver in the field right now, but I don't see Ferrari winning a driver's title this year, so I went with Hammy. Just a gut feel. We need to come up with our season long wager shortly. Something to do with RB and how many points he will score this year or something along those lines. I think: Hammy, Schumy, Vettel, Alonso. I am rooting for: Rubens, Hammy, Alonso, USF1 MB MB
Don't forget Jean Todt, and the most excellent wingman duties of Reubens Barrichello and Eddie Irvine and the Ferrari being designed for MS specifically and the 4 seasons it took him to win the WDC with Ferrari after moving from his 2 time WDC winning Benneton...
Webber has 2 b's Hmm. I'd like to see the 1st race before deciding Hopefully a Ferrari or else Schumie or Webber
Taking Fernando. I think Ferrari will be back and Massa is not in the same league as Fernando, I wish he was but sadly he is not. I would love to see Vettel do well but we will have to see if Red Bull has a car again. I don't see Schumacher competing for long, too old and too long away from the car. Hamilton and Button should put up a challenge though. SHOULD BE REALLY INTERESTING SEASON!!!
A serious contender, so I voted Massa. DO NOT under estimate him and Ferrari this season. They have been developing the car since early last season, with Massa back and fit he was training hard, in Ferrari new ultra realistic amazing super computer simulator. They are ready. Best Mike
I voted for Schumi and I think it will be a three-way between Michael, Hamilton and Vettel. Based on an article in the news this morning, Ferrari is already saying they lack pace and Alonso is already strayed from his previous positive comments and is already now in the whiney phase. Carol
Whoever has the best car will win-therefore hard to bet against MS/Brawn but Vettel/RB are right there with them and if it is a wet season then Vettelth wins it going away. As for Ferrari I read the Gazzetta dello sport and see no mention of any anticipated deficiencies in the car-Costa and Tombatzis have said there are some gray areas in the double diffuser rule which is subject to interpretation. That said, this is why the old cliche "When the green flag drops the bs stops." is still true....
