Ross Brawn knows how to mastermind titles. Michael Schumacher knows how to get the most out of a car. Mercedes are bank-rolling their efforts. Over the next three years, Schumacher will be adding to his already impressive collection of helmet stars. Vettel and Hamilton will be his nearest rivals. I fear Alonso will do something to undermine Ferrari. All the best, Andrew.
Hamilton. If...I mean when Schumi tries his scumbag tactics with Lewis, I believe Lewis will retaliate regardless of consequences. And it is about time someone did.
I'd be happy to bet the standard f-chat 6-pack of beer that Rubens doesn't get over 30 points next year. FWIW, Nico got 34 points last year. I'll go over 25 points if you're not confident in your man doing 30
I can't seem to understand why people are picking Schumacher. I know he was one of the greatest but three years absence from competitive F1 racing is simply too much. Not to mention the reactions of a 41 year old aren't nearly as good as a 21 year old. I see him being very consistent and getting a lot out of the car setup but his pure speed will be lacking compared to the Hamilton/Vettel/Alonso. I don't see him qualifying high because I don't think he has the blazing speed not to mention that motorcycle accident can't be too great either. I love Mike, but I see Nico being faster.
As always it will be the car that wins. Opinions; That car, team, and engine will be Mercedes. Of the two drivers for that team the youngster will have more total tools that count. This year youth and exuberance trumps old age and treachery. Rosberg.
I think Hamilton and I will be routing for him (Sorry I just will, he's British). Of course i'll be routing for the Ferrari boys, theres just no one in Ferrari anymore that I like enough to want to win over Hammi. Then theres old Schuey... My overall top 5 opinion is: Hamilton, Schumi, Alonso, Massa, Button.
Apart from Hamilton, and Massa, Vettel must be seen as one of the few top contenders who won't have to re-adapt to a new team, new technical staff, etc... In fact, Vettel; even keeps the same partner in 2010, and will be allowed to work in the same environment. I see Weber as just a back up, not a title challenger Alonso will be new to Ferrari, with a lot to prove after 2 lacklustre years with Renault, and Massa will try to justify the confidence put in him after last year's accident. I expect these two to compete each other before anything. Same at McLaren, where the combative Hamilton will be in his 4th season, in a team shaped around him, whilst Button will try to prove he can still cut it, after his 'lucky' WDC. Brawn/Mercedes will have 2 new drivers in the team, but I cannot share the exagerated optimism I read about this outfit. I consider Shumacher's return no more than hype, and an obstacle for Rosberg to shine. So, my favourite if Vettel on a Newey-designed Red Bull, providing the Renault engine doesn't go weak during the season. I think that the Red Bull's powerplant is the 'Achiles heel' in that team.
Not a bad assessment apart from your usual excuse and cop out LUCK! I for one hope Button does well, real well just for one reason.
+1 Schumacher is way overrated on this forum. He was beaten in his last two years in F1 and started to make really stupid mistakes like the pre race accident with Dornboos.
The whole team did, actually.....after the near perfection from all of them the previous years, it did make me wonder if they were all just 'over it'
It's not just Newey you know, yes he designs the car but EVERYONE in the team has to get everything right for a driver to win a WDC. I just think it's wrong to pin all hopes for Vettel on Newey, thats all.
