The whiter the better. I would install the 5000k. I have 6000k “Daylight” Led’s In my garage and really can see the improvement. Much easier to see while working on and detailing the cars.

There is another thread going on similar to this... (I see you have been on that link). Take a look at post 7 and 8. With the lights on you see mine is more pure white, no blue hue. If you look at the others with canned lights, you can see 3000K which has more amber, the 5000K will have a little more blue hue, 6000K is blue light nearly.

I went with LED UFO's at 4000K. 3000K is to "yellow", 5000K was too blue in my mind. 4000K is what I thought looked more pure white. 5000K would work as well, but I thought from height (mine are ~22 foot up) threw too much blue hue (would have been fine) but I thought 4000K was better in my eyes.

PS. If you have a lowes near you, (the one near me) has in the lighting section a display set up with a bunch of LED's you can turn on and off various lighting. They have examples in each of those displays of the various "temperature lights, from 3000 on up. Good idea on what each looks like for color and saturation if yours has a similar display...

5200 K is generally used for paint color matching.

I wouldn’t go higher than 5k, 6k is too blue. In my shop I have multiple temps and the 6k work but the 5k are much better. For a lighter color such as a white or silver car I’d suggest going with a 4k-4500

The blue spectrum is not very good for your eyes. 4k is about right, still quite a white light effect.

I have 5K lights, great for working and color matching.
