Went and picked up my new 1979 930 today, Great car my first Porsche and my first Turbo. I'll have to say the only thing I need to adjust to is the clutch, It just feels weird but its all good, This being my first turbo car it will take some getting used to that's for sure. Unfortunately for me the weather was in the high 20's, snow was forecast and since it had summer tires on it, I bit the bullet and towed it home instead of driving it like I wanted to. Car is Silver Metallic with Black interior, sunroof, A/C and passenger mirror. I need to get it on the road and drive it poor car has been sitting a lot over the years but has had plenty of work done by the last owner. I will get some photos up asap I have my Christmas present so I'm happy. johnny
Congratulations! Post some pics! I used to have a 1989 930 with the rare 5-speed manual. Absolutely loved that car (the turbo lag is something else, but it'll get up and go eventually). Selling it was the biggest mistake I've made in my car history. Enjoy in good health!
Photos man! Love them. Interested to hear your thoughts on the car after a few months of driving it! Have fun and be safe! MB
Rare... yep, the 89 was the ONLY 930 with a 5 speed... had the G50 trans, so it had a hydraulic clutch. Only year for the 5-speed 930.
Congratulations. Awesome cars. One of the best performing exotic/semi exotic cars ever made. You probably already know this but I'll mention it anyways. Use caution when lifting your foot off the throttle under boost. Especially in a turn. The back will lift up, making the car (near) uncontrollable.
ok one photo because I have been on the road and I also didn't get to take very many of the car because of the weather, once I put it in the Barn the snow hit so I just left it parked. I am happy and sad because Now I am back in Afghanistan oh well. jp Image Unavailable, Please Login
