Picked her up at the factory the other day. Nothing like driving her in her country of birth!!!! Pictures and a full report when I get Stateside. I will leave you all with one thought - WHOA BABY!!!!
Congratulations, must be a real thrill. Out of interest how do they go about doing the PDI etc if you pick up from the factory? I'd be keen to know as I'd quite like the option to pick mine up from the factory as I am in Spain. Is it hard to organise? cheers
Congratulations!! I know you have been looking forward to it for quite sometime. Glad to hear it finally happened and it took place in Italy
Ok thanks. Do you have to bring it to the dealer when you get back to get the PDI done and get it "officialised". Or do they do all that in Italy?
Thanks for the good wishes all. I am in the middle of the country in a remote village with minimal coverage only on my iPhone. If I had any bandwidth, I would post pix but only text is uploading without timing out. Gotta say, the passion of the Italian people young and old when seeing and hearing the Scuderia is awesome Ciao PS, get ready to drive her Jason!!!
Has anyone else from the states been able to do this? When I had asked, was told by my dealer there isn't a way to do this (timing/ insurance). Does it depend on how much work your dealer is willing to go through?
Kennedy - there is no dealer program or factory program. The dealer is not in the chain actually - suffice it to say that you are on your own - insurance is a bear but easy compared to getting the car registered in the EU, plates dealing with the Italian embassy and then figuring how and with whom to ship it back. Again, you do all the legwork - not even FNA can get the paperwork or do the legwork And, of course, there is timing.......
Congratulations...must be a fantastic experience to enjoy the Scud in its home country, drive some of the roads the test drivers use...
Congrats, cool story...bet your having a blast! Can't wait to see some pics when you get back! -Brian
