Sorry for the delay in fully reporting the adventures with the new GTS. Been busy with work and the holidays. So last week, we grabbed the family and headed for the mountains. Lots of nice curvy roads mixed with lots of elevation change. Everyone got a chance to ride with my brother and check out the targa free motoring. It was relaxing. You can see the Rosso Corsa very far away - like a beacon. It's just impossible to miss and unlikely to be thought of as any other car type because of it's silhouette and shade of red. My brother and his wife were smiling all day. Neither had really experienced a trip out in a Ferrari and all the hoopla that goes with it. They took a lot of photos and loved the car with the top on and off. Because my brother is shorter than me, he doesn't have to move the seat up when storing the top. He just flips the seats forward and is ready to go. I don't have that luxury at 6'-1" so a GTS is perfect for him. GTB for me. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
It was really a fun experience helping my brother find the right first Ferrari for him. Dream come true for him and his wife. All f-chatters remember the first purchase and how special every detail was. This was no different. It is extra special because we have the same model and we can go back in forth with info and experiences. We are planning my 6th visit to Maranello in the spring. My brother will be my focus to share what I have loved so much about the area. He gets it now. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great story Robb and excellent pics. Congratulations to your brother. He looks suitably happy! You have inspired me to try to contact the original owner of my car...
Robb, is your brother's wife Elaine from Seinfeld. If not it could be her sister. Nice pictures of the car.
Got the emissions done on the '97 GTS. That took a little bit of work... But after another long visit from my brother, we picked up his normal license plate. We'll figure out something personalized and fun after the next few weeks. I tasked my brother with finding a plate frame from Michigan where the car originated. But until then, I've put on one of my frames - this one from Ferrari of Houston. I grew up there and it was the first place I saw Ferraris and enjoyed going to look in the storefront at their new cars at the dealership. So good memories. And I like Andy Anderson. He's there now after transferring from Ferrari of Denver. He has helped me with records for my car and is a good guy. If you looking for a particular car, give him a call.
