I always buy pickles I haven't had. I have my local spots; there is a polish deli close by that I get my favorites. I love jar-cured and imported/home made ones the best. Sour is good, garlic is good.

So I was very surprised at how good these pickles are. They are from COSCTO! My wife brought them home and I opened the jar before the groceries were in the house (just have to try a new pickle).

Moishes - fantastic COSTCO value and a nice sour/dill taste from a big chain store. I normally don't do grocery store pickles but these are great!

Oh, that reminds me - was informed by friend today - need a source for best Giardiniera in oil, not vinegar. Chicago style. She and her husband miss the stuff, and have ordered off 'net, but think some of the prices are silly, so price has to be reasonable, as well.

I am sure the local Pizza place probably thinks I'm nuts cause when I order a pizza I always ask for a few pickles on the side.

BTW try Famous Dave's. They ship and they are AWESOME.

You came in on that pickled polish sausage thread didn't ya?

No I will have to search!

All my clothes smell of deep fry today; I did it on the back porch to save the house but man I need to throw these clothes in the laundry but I'm scared they will burst into flames sitting in a pile ;)

    Hot or mild?
My favorites are the ones with more olives, celery and carrots which tend to be milder even if labeled "hot". Greco and Marconi, both local Chicago brands I believe. I'd be happy to fetch some for you. send a PM if so.

Best Pickles? Hengstenberg Crunchy Gerkins, from Germany. Most "green grocers" near me have them.

My fave are Ba Tampte garlic dills, even better than the ones in the barrels at our local Farmers Market-and cheaper.
